In college, roommates can either be the best or the worst thing. If you're a freshman at Fairfield, you get assigned a random person that you've never met before and just hope for the best. After that, you can pick who you live with and where you live, which is awesome. Hopefully, your roommates will all work out and get along well, and they will become your family away from your family. Sometimes we take for granted how important roommates are to our college experience. Here are 12 things that we forget to thank our roommates for.

1. For listening to us complain about our classes

Thanks for not hating us after we fire off complaint after complaint, especially about our classes.

2. For letting us have the last scoop of ice cream when we're having a bad day

Even though you may have really wanted it, thank you for letting us have it anyway on "one of those days."

3. For reminding us to turn off the oven when we cook

Otherwise this GIF would be a regular occurrence. Thanks for always looking out for us ... and our house.

4. For not judging us ever

Roomie friendships are always a judgment free zone.

5. For being our cheerleaders at every event

Thanks for supporting us through everything — even the things that you may not necessarily want to go to.

6. For not hating us when we cough all night long when we're sick

I would hate sick me too, but thanks for loving me anyway.

7. For not telling us what happened on that episode of "Grey's" that we didn't get to watch

Even though it may be hard, thanks for not giving away the spoilers; you're the best!

8. For taking out the smelly trash so that we don't have to do it ourselves

Thanks for taking one for the team!

9. For coming to unlock the door when we forget a key

Forgetting our keys happens far too many times to admit. Thank you for always coming without fail.

10. For being our pseudo-moms

Thanks for reminding us to drink our water and take our vitamins.

11. For always ordering in with us when we don't want to cook or get dining hall food

You're the best for doing this with us!

12. For being our best friends always

We can't thank you enough for all that you do, roomies!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
