Although the weather here on the East Coast may not be familiar, we all know that December brings the celebration of Christmas. A season of giving, shopping, cookies of all assortments, light filled trees topped with stars and Angels and so much more. One of the most beloved parts of the holiday season are the never ending songs that play through our speakers beginning on Black Friday and become our source of sanity until Christmas day. We all know and love the classics, but what about the remix versions which bring us joy each year? Here is a list of what I believe to be the top Christmas song revisions you must hear before the season is over!

12. Jingle Bell Rock – Michael Bublé and Carly Rae Jepsen

All of the Holiday songs Michael sings are flawless, no exception here. Plus, if it successfully reminds you of Mean Girls, it's a great remake of the classic.

11. All I Want for Christmas Is You – Fifth Harmony

Do not get mad, I know you cannot replace Mariah!

10. Last Christmas – Cascada

Throwback to a 2009 musician here! That's right, Cascada covered this famous song and it is wonderful.

9. Silent Night - Kelly Clarkson ft. Trisha Yearwood, Reba

McEntire

The absolute Christmas song trio, believe me.

8. Baby, It’s Cold Outside – Idina Menzel and Michael Bublé

No surprise here, Michael again! Also, Idina is used to the cold so if the lyrics fit, sing them, right?

7. Hallelujah – The Osmonds

Originally not a Christmas carol, there was no choice but to add this to the list. I bawled like a baby the first time I heard this phenomenal song. So many artists have remade this song for many occasions, such as Shakira for the Hope for Haiti campaign. This one takes the cake!

6. The Twelve Days of Christmas - Straight No Chaser

A cappella! I will leave it at that.

5. You’re A Mean One, Mr. Grinch – Darius Rucker

You cannot simply listen to this once! Darius Rucker has such an interesting voice that puts a totally different spin on the classic song dedicated to the famous onion eating, green character.

4. The Little Drummer Boy – Pentatonix

There is always one Christmas song (or song in general) that everyone seems to love except yourself, yeah, that is how I feel about The Little Drummer Boy. With that being said, I adore this version and the music video is placed in a breath-taking setting, see for yourself.

3. Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas – Sam Smith

Do I really need to explain? Sam Smith puts his heart and soul into this song (similar to all of the songs he sings).

2. Hark the Herald Angels Sing – Carrie Underwood

WARNING: Tears! Carrie has such a powerful voice that illuminates all of the lyrics to this wonderful religious classic! Plus, who doesn't love the beautiful American Idol star? She even kicks off Sunday Night Football!

1. Santa Clause is Coming to Town – Bruce Springsteen

Hands down, the all time greatest remake (and Christmas song overall) to wrap up the list. Why? Bruce's real personality comes through when he sings this song. He actually laughs in the middle of singing it! It is so fun to sing along with him! Also, Clarence will ALWAYS need a new saxophone!

Not much can trump the originals sung by our favorites such as Burl Ives, Eartha Kitt, Elvis Presley, and John Lennon. Regardless, notable musicians of all time periods and genres blow us away by putting their unique spin on some of the most wonderful holiday songs. Take some time this holiday season to figure out which remix you love the most.

Happy Holidays!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
