Being a Disney princess is harder than it may seem. Well, officially being labeled a Disney princess that is. Currently, only eleven Disney princesses are a part of the official line-up: Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Pocahontas, Mulan, Tiana, Rapunzel, and Merida. All of these females are either royal by birth, royal by marriage, or considered a princess by an act of heroism. However, while this seems like it would be necessary to be a part of the line-up, it is not. There are actually only three requirements. To be deemed as a Disney princess on the official line-up, there are three more requisites: 1) The character must have a primary role in a Disney animated feature film; 2) They must be human or human-like (ex: Ariel); 3) And they must not primarily appear in a sequel. There also seems to be the consideration of it is theatrically released and how well it does that factors in. While there are many other Disney characters are princesses by title or the equivalent, they are not a part of the official line-up. These are those who may meet a requirement(s) and may be sold with Disney princess merch, but are not officially apart of the line-up

1 & 2. Anna & Elsa (Frozen)

Anna and Elsa have been placed alongside those in the line-up, but are suprisingly not apart of it. However, if they were to join, Anna would be the only one who could join, as Elsa became a queen in the movie.

3. Giselle (Enchanted)

Giselle was a former princess of Andalasia. She was going to join the line-up, but because she looks like Amy Adams, Disney would have to pay her royalties from the likeness between the two.

4. Melody (The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea)

Melody, daughter of Ariel, is the first princess to appear in only a Disney sequel. Because, her movie was not theatrically released, she did not join the line-up.

5.Kida (Atlantis: The Lost Empire)

Personally, she is one of my favorites, and I love that she purposely contrasts the way most of the princess before her looked. Kida, like Anna, is royal by birth. She was the daughter of a king, and became Queen of Atlantis during the film, like Elsa. However, unlike Elsa, she does not become queen until the end of the movie. She meets the three requirements to be on the official line-up, but because Atlantis didn't do so well in the box office, she was not inducted. She would have been the oldest to be on the line-up at 28 (human) years old.

6. Sofia (Sofia the First)

Sofia is a princess due to marriage and is a associated with the Disney Princess franchise. However, because of her young age and the fact that she is on a tv show, she is not officially on the line-up and is planned to be (currently).

7. Nala (The Lion King)

Nala meets two of the three requirements to be a princess, but because she is not human or human-like, she did not join the line-up.

8. Kiara (The Lion King II: Simba's Pride)

Like her mother, Nala, she is unable to join because she is a lion.

9. Vanellope von Schweetz (Wreck-it-Ralph)

Vanellope is the lost princess of the game Sugar Rush, but, like Sofia, she is too young to join the line-up.

10. Eilonwy (The Black Cauldron)

Eilonwy became the first princess with a PG rating. Because of this, the movie being not so successful, and copyright issues, she did not join the line-up. Eilonwy would have become the youngest princess to join at 12 years old.

11. Megara/Meg (Hercules)

At the 2013 D23 Expo, Meg was cited as a Disney Princess. The voice of Meg, Susan Egan, was confirmed to be there which sparked rumors about her possibly joining, but it seems that alas, they are just rumors as nothing has changed.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
