11 Unique Gifts To Give This Holiday Season

The holiday season is upon us, which means that there's about to be a whole lot of gift giving going on. I, for one, have reached reached my limit on giving generic mugs or taking advantage of the 6 for $24 soap sale at Bath & Body and splitting them up among friends. For those of you who want to go beyond candles, perfume, and fuzzy socks, here is a list of unique gifts to give this holiday.

1. Uterus Pillow- $20

I Heart Guts has the line of the cutest plush organs you've ever seen, complete with punny names like "Womb Service" and "Ain't Life Gland?" I, however, am partial to the uterus.

2. Wax Warmer- price varies

Whether it's a fancy shmancy warmer from Scentsy or a generic one from Walmart, these flameless little gems have the warm scent and ambiance of a candle, without the risk of your cat accidentally burning the house down.

3. Personalized Handwriting Bracelet- $31.00

Diamond earrings are never not a wonderful gift, but this Etsy shop customizes jewelry with a bit more of a personal touch.

4. Dollar Shave Club- $3-9/month

This is the gift that keeps on giving- as long as you keep paying for the subscription. This monthly supply of razor blades is perfect for men and women and ensures that your loved ones never shave with a dull razor again.

5. Himalayan Salt Lamp- $29.99

There are a lot of science-y/health reasons to own a himalayan salt lamp, on top of the fact that they're just plan beautiful. They are also sold in the form of smaller wall plug-ins and tea candle holders.

6. Swear Word Coloring Books- $7.54

This adult coloring books make a perfect book for the people in your life who have equally colorful language.

7. "Pocket Projector"- $149.99

This handy dandy gadget is perfect for die hard movie lovers and gamers, as it can turn any wall or ceiling into your own personal home theater.

8. Amazon Prime Membership- $99/year

I only spend $50/year on my membership since I'm a student, but I would gladly pay double that for the convenience, perks, and free shipping. Give the gift of Prime to the Amazon enthusiast in your life.

9. A Donation in Their Name

A lot of adults can be hard to shop for because when they need something, they just go buy it. It's truly special to know that the lives of others have been improved in your honor. This holiday season, consider making a donation to one of your loved ones' favorite causes, like St. Jude's, Planned Parenthood, Salvation Army, or the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.

10. Smart Herb Garden- $60

What's more self-sufficient than growing your own food? Even if that food is tiny herbs grown in your brand new Click & Grow Smart Herb Garden Starter Kit from Urban Outfitters... Trust me, I attempted to grow herbs sans facy gadget and do you know what I got? A bunch of sad mugs of dirt.

11. Microwaveable Stuffed Animals- $18.59

Trust me, it's not as morbid as it sounds. These adorable stuffed animals have a calming lavender scent and can be microwaved or frozen to suit your needs. Trust me, every girl you know will be cuddling these comforting heat packs for dear life at least once a month.

May your holidays be filled with love, laughter, and gifts as unique as yourselves.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
