What's a success if it's not celebrated? You should especially be proud of your own success as "How I Met Your Mother's" Barney Stinson knows as no other. Those little wins should be a recognition of just how awesome you are. Unfortunately, sometimes, people don't always quite agree on what you call high-five worthy, but don't let them get your spirits down, because in moments like those you just have to give a mental self-five!

1. When you get up after your first alarm

2. When you almost drop your plate, but save it just in time

3. When you're not paying attention, the teacher asks you a question and you answer correctly

4. When you're going out and you're looking fly as hell

5. When you see your ex with someone new and stay calm

6. When you went out and didn't drunk text said ex

8. When you crack a joke, nobody laughs, but you know it was hilarious anyway

9. When you get through the day without taking a nap

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines.
