Let’s face it, no matter how athletic we think we are, or actually are, going to the gym at a state school is always an adventure. Whether it’s waiting in line for treadmills, having to stop your workout every five seconds to say hi to that rando that was in your English class, or realizing you’re not actually in shape at all and even walking on the treadmill makes you breath like a gorilla, you probably have these 11 thoughts go through your mind.
1. “Yeah here we go, at the end of this I will feel so skinny, and I’ll even eat a salad later.”
2. “Great I would see everyone and their mothers at the gym.”
3. “Am I sweating too much or is this normal? Why didn’t I think to wear waterproof mascara? Great, now it looks like I'm crying (which I honestly might be.”
4. “I hate my life, this running thing is hard."
5. “I can do it, picture pizza, run towards the pizza.”
6. “It’s okay, I’m actually fine being this weight. I’m just going to walk on the treadmill now.”
7. “Maybe let’s switch to weights. Yeah, good idea, that seems easier.”
8. “No, no, wait! These are actually too heavy, but I can’t put them back yet. People are staring, I have to pretend to be fit.”
9. “Abs, yes, okay. I think I can do that. Yes, okay, way to go me! I did ten crunches. I feel the burn…Okay that’s good enough.”
10. “Yup, def feel skinnier.”
11. “I deserve fries.”
