There really is no place like home.

In college everyone has a different backstory, but there's nothing better than finding someone who is from the same place you are. Everywhere is different but when you find that one person out of all the people you've met in college, you have so much to talk about even when it feels like where you're from is the most boring place on Earth. While in high school I thought I couldn't wait to leave home, but home is where all my favorite memories are from. Here are 11 things you may understand if you were raised in Sussex County, New Jersey.

1. You pass like three farms while trying to go literally anywhere.

Even trying to get to school in the morning, be cautious at the cow crossing.

2. You might've grown up riding horses, or at least had a friend that did.

3. You know all about Action Park and its awful history, but you probably go or work there anyway.

I mean, it's not that bad anymore, right??

4. The Sussex County Fair is a big deal!

You probably own one of those reusable lemonade cups, but you never actually reuse them.

5. You probably know people that own chickens.

6. You've probably been on the Appalachian Trail.

Watch out for those black bears though!

7. There's no such thing as Central Jersey.

8. It literally takes an hour to get anywhere.

New York City? An hour. Any mall? An hour.

9. It's called Taylor Ham.

And a Taylor Ham, egg, and cheese on a bagel may be your favorite thing.

10. We have the most beautiful sunflower maze.

This is mostly just a spot for people to take pictures with sunflowers and post them all over instagram, but that's okay because it's so artsy.

11. No matter how far away you go, Sussex will always be home.

Even though I always used to say I can't wait to leave Sussex, I will never stop missing the place I call home.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
