1. Your managers teach you nothing, but expect EVERYTHING.
It is up to you to know where those shirts go and to keep that display perfect, but don’t expect anyone to tell you how to do it.
2. The pile that took you 10 minutes to fold can get destroyed in one second by one customer.
You know who you are, the size medium or large so you’re at the middle of the pile and you don’t care what you destroy to get there. Trust me, we would really appreciate if you ask us for a size, because we JUST FOLDED THAT!!!!
3. Using the walkie-talkies to find a size in the back is always complicated, and you’ll end up walking back there anyway.
No one can hear what anyone is saying, and the customer is getting more impatient by the minute, plus I would have been at the back already anyway.
4. Men’s button-down shirts are a puzzle in themselves.
Folding them is as complicated as it gets. Why don’t we just hang these again????
5. Clearance racks/ tables will never stay neat.
Maybe it’s an unspoken law of nature, but something about a clearance sign makes humans lose all control.
6. Customers feel no shame to try things on in public.
And I’m not just talking jackets. If the fitting room line is longer than one person, everything is tried on, on the sales floor.
7. People will leave their kids anywhere will they go shop.
They plop their kids down in a corner, or on a display with an I-Pad and shop away.
8. Men really measure their waist by putting their fist to elbow in the waist of the pants.
To avoid trying them on.
9. No matter how many times you offer to help someone, he or she will still destroy your display.
Even if you kindly ask can I help you find a size. Nope. They are not having it. Maybe people enjoy tearing apart freshly folded piles.
10. Your. Poor. Feet.
They hurt always. No matter what shoes, or for how long, or how long you sit after. They just always hurt.
11. There are always the great people who come in and make your day.
They ask how you are doing, say thank you a million times, and DON’T DESTROY YOUR PILES!!
