If you're obsessed with the Holidays, we all know that we got really excited when October 1 hit the calendar. October 1 means you're one step closer to Halloween, Thanksgiving, and of course, Christmas. Chances are, you've been thinking about them for awhile, and you've been counting down the days until you can buy Halloween candy from the displays that have been out since august, make your plans for black Friday shopping, and start thinking about your plans for the Christmas season. If you are obsessed with the holidays, here are eleven things you know to be true.
1. You went and got a pumpkin spice latte the first day they came out
On September 6, chances are you were in the line getting your first pumpkin spice latte of the season. You've probably already had at least a dozen more since then, too.
2. You've secretly been listening to Christmas music for at least the last couple of weeks, or months
You've probably been Rocking Around The Christmas Tree when your sitting in the silent library studying, or when your driving to work. Let's be honest, you've probably been listening to the Michael Bublé Christmas Album since August.
3. You're on the edge of your seat waiting for the TV movie marathons
13 Nights Of Halloween? Countdown To 25 Days Of Christmas? 25 Days Of Christmas? Countdown To Christmas On Hallmark? You know when they all are, and you plan on carving out a lot of your time to watch them. This might even include staying up all night during the week to study way ahead of time for a test, just to be able to sit and binge for hours. The excitement is so real.
4. Decorations, all the decorations
Spiderwebs, Jack O' Lanterns, witch hats, turkeys, cornucopias, and finally, christmas trees, lights, and snowmen. You get so excited just to see all of the decorations out for each of the holidays, as long as stores aren't putting out christmas trees in october; then that's just wrong.
5. Your counting down the days for holiday breaks on your calendar
How many weeks until thanksgiving break? How many weeks until Christmas break? How many more 8 AM's until thanksgiving break? How many lectures until Christmas break? You've got your schedule down to a science counting down to when each break is, and how many weeks.
6. Two Words: Red Cups
Just as exciting as the pumpkin spice latte is the idea that Peppermint Mochas and Red Cups come behind them. On November 4th, you'll be waiting in the drive thru line to get your hands on one of the things that seems to be a Hallmark Of The American Christmas season. Coffee Drinkers Unite!
7. You Get Excited For Holiday Commercials On TV
Even if it's just a commercial for halloween costumes, or a commercial for layaway for christmas at Kmart, you can't help but get really excited, probably more then you should.
8. Bath and Body Works
For all of us holiday freaks, Bath and Body Works is like heaven for each of the holidays. Fall brings us pumpkin everything, and enough pumpkin candles to have your house, and the rest of your neighborhood to smell like pumpkin until the next year, with scents like Pumpkin Cupcake and Pumpkin Apple Cider. Christmas brings us Vanilla Bean Noel, Winter Candy Apple, and loads of Christmas Tree- Scented room spray. The most wonderful time of the year is really a lot longer then just christmas time, heaven for our noses!
9. You get excited when your town starts to look festive
Around halloween, when the places selling pumpkins start to be noticeable, every month seems to escalate to the next holiday. Inflatable turkeys in front of grocery stores changes to christmas trees, and wreaths hanging from power poles, and being able to buy eggnog in the grocery store. You subconsciously wait all year for everything to look christmasy, or... halloweeny?
10. You can't for the weather to change
Halloween, Thanksgiving and christmas means dressing for the weather, and the seasons. You can't wait for sweaters, leggings, and boots, or, if your truly obsessed with the holidays, goofy halloween socks, teeshirts, or costumes; Or christmas, with santa hats, shirts with quotes from Home Alone or Christmas Vacation, and christmas socks. Let's be real, your probably just as obsessed with the clothes as much as the holidays.
11. Honestly, it means you can see the end of the semester, and you're over the moon excited
We all love the fall semester, and everything it brings with it; football, seeing friends, a new school year. But I think we'd all be lying if we said we weren't excited for christmas and thanksgiving where we get time off from the stress of school. It's really some of the most glorious times of the school year.
We all love the holidays, but some of us more then others. We wait all year for these couple of months where every store seems be decorated, it's okay to stuff your face full of candy, or watch hours of scary movies, eating turkey and as much leftovers as you can fit in your mouth and listen to christmas music on the radio. We live for this time of year. HAPPY HALLOTHANKSMAS!!!
