We all count down the days until finals are over. We get so excited to go home, but when we finally get there, we realize how boring it can be compared to college. No friends next door to you, no place to hang out every night. So, it's not surprising how quickly we get bored. Well, here are some things to do once the boredom hits.
1. Explore your town
You may have lived in your town for years, but have you truly explored it? Take some time to do the touristy things, go down side roads you've never seen, and get lost in a familiar place.
2. Go to the city
Boston never gets boring. Go by yourself or with a friend and just walk around and enjoy the city.
3. Spend time with family
Whether it's your parents, your great aunt, or your annoying brother, your family will love it if you spend some quality time with them, especially if you live on campus during the school year.
4. Actually go to visit friends
We all say to our friends that we'll hang out during break, but how many friends do you actually visit?
5. Go see a movie
The movie theater is unappreciated these days. There's nothing like experiencing a movie on the big screen.
6. Knock things off of your bucket list
"Yeah, I'll do that some day." Do it today! Finally play Marco Polo in Walmart, or jump in the ocean in January!
7. Work
We all have to find a way to pay the bills.
8. Study abroad
There are so many opportunities to go on Study Tours over break. These trips are a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and something that every college student should do at least once.
9. Volunteer
Spend your free time giving back to others. However you volunteer, someone will appreciate it, and you'll feel good about yourself as well.
10. Go for walks
Take time to go for a walk each day. Don't lay around watching Netflix all day!
11. Spend time by yourself
Although winter break can get lonely, it's a good time to spend time by yourself. Take up meditation or yoga, and enjoy the quiet.
Remember- no matter what you do during your break, enjoy the peace while you can. Before you know it, you'll be drowning in homework once again!
