Where did the time go? Seemed just like yesterday you finished your finals for spring semester and couldn't wait for summer to start. Before you go back to your college student lifestyle, be sure to check these things off your list before we start school in one month!

1. Read a book

Whether it be an old favorite, one that's soon becoming a movie, or a classic, give your brain a vacation. During the school year sadly you won't have as much time to read for fun.

2. Write a letter

To an old friend, family member, or even a message in a bottle! There's nothing better than pouring your feelings out in a letter and reaching out to someone you haven't talked to in awhile. Plus, everyone loves getting mail!

3. Day Trip

What's that one place you've always wanted to round up your bffs and adventure to? Depending on where you live, there is probably a ton of options you have to expore that you aren't taking advantage of by visiting!

4.Surprise Visit

Make your grandparents, old neighbor, or old coworkers day by surprising them with a visit.

5. Learn a recipe

Impress your friends during the school year with that one recipe you know how to make with your eyes closed. Practice makes perfect!

6. Look at requirements for school majors/deadlines for programs

You don't want to start the semester off stressed because you didn't know upcoming deadlines! Also, be sure to make sure you're on the right track for your classes and major.

7. Save!

Unless you have a job during the school year, you probably won't be making much money. Save now so if you need something during the semester you treat yourself.

8. Clean out your wardrobe

Clean our your closet and get rid of those middle school clothes you never want to look at again and update your style!

9. Set goals

Set goals for your grades, working out, and studying. Make this your best semester yet.

10. Start planning for the upcoming year

Make an easy transition. Put the dates for all your breaks and plans you know ahead of time.

11. Spend quality time with friends/family

Just relax! School will be here before we know. Hang out with those you won't be seeing during the year.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
