Welp, good news! It's right around the corner! The "eating" holiday as most of us refer to it. Yes, I'm talking about one of my favorite holidays, Thanksgiving.
On this day, a lot of things happen that don't normally happen on a daily basis. While most of these things are awesome, some are not-so-good. But no matter what happens on this day, it will always be one to remember.
1. Cleaning, cleaning, cleaning.
In my family, we have Thanksgiving dinner at our house, so for the entire previous week, my mom is on cleaning overload. This means that my siblings and I are required to do nothing but clean. "Social life? No. That can wait until later," says my mom.
2. Seeing your entire family.
It's always great to see your family after however long, but what comes along with it could be a good thing or a bad thing.
3. Trying to get dressed up for dinner.
It always happens. We think about and maybe even try to get dressed up for the "special" occasion. Somehow, it never works out.
4. But always end up wearing stretchy pants.
I mean, you gotta make room for all that food coming your way.
5. Being interrogated by your family members about your love life, school, etc.
"So, do you have a boyfriend yet?" Nope. "How's school going?" Sucks. "Any internships?" Not that I know of. Everything's pretty much the same as last year, family.
6. Trying to make room for EVERYTHING on your plate.
Who wants to choose? I want to have every kind of food that's on the table. I'm not about to wait and get something later only to find out that Uncle Bob ate the last one.

You've watched your older siblings bring their boyfriends/girlfriends over for the holidays and it always crashes and burns. This scares the shit out of you, so good luck.
8. When two opinionated family members get into a heated argument.
It's usually over politics, religion or some pending family problem. And it happens every. single. year. And everyone else just sits there awkwardly wanting it to stop.
9. Going into a food coma after the five-course meal.
Too. much. food.
10. Cleaning......again.
After dinner, time for the dish cleaning and dividing the extra food. Because leaving it would be a travesty.
11. Finally, getting the dirtiest of looks from your mom when you ask to go out that night.
I mean, after a hard days work, you gotta go out and relax. But, apparently that's not gonna happen.
Happy Thanksgiving!
