When I was growing up, I took my parents for granted. I never truly understood just how much they did for me until I got older and moved off to college. They gave up so much of their time, and many other things that they could have kept for themselves. Now that I realize how much they did for me, I wanted to say thank you for everything and let them know that I appreciate all of it!
1. Thank you for giving me life.
I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for you (literally).
2. Thank you for all the wonderful family vacations.
They truly are some of the best childhood memories that I have.
3. Thank you for raising me to be such a strong, independent woman.
You taught me how to not rely on anyone else to get something done and to go out there and do it myself.
4. Thank you for feeding me.
I know it must have been hard to supply with me food for 18 years (sorry), and I appreciate you continuing to do it even though I am grown now.
5. Thank you for encouraging me to chase after my dreams.
I know it was hard for you to watch me fail time and time again, but it takes courage to pick me back up and make me get back out there to fight some more.
6. Thank you for all of those long days at work in order to provide for me.
You always made sure that I had everything I ever needed and wanted (in reasonable amount) no matter how much work it took to get there. I can honestly say that I never went without because of all of your hard work.
7. Thank you for putting me before yourself.
I know it was challenging to have to watch Barney over and over again, all while keeping your sanity.
8. Thank you for dealing with me through my awkward stage.
I know I said a few things back then that I regret now, but you toughed it out and loved me through it. Although I do often wonder if you had let me dress like that and take pictures of it for punishment 10 years down the road.
9. Thank you for being my biggest cheerleader.
I know that your time could have been spent somewhere else other than the ball field, but you were always there in the stands cheering me on.
10. Thank you for being my best friend.
Throughout the years, my best friends would come and go, but you were always consistent and was there for me to talk to if I ever needed it.
11. Thank you for loving me.
Out of all of the things that I am thankful, this is probably the one I am most thankful for. I could not have made it to where I am today without your unconditional love. You have given me so much in life, and I will forever be grateful to the both of you for it all! I love you guys with all of my heart!
