Most people interact with a grocery store cashier at least a couple of times a week. Those of us who have never worked as a cashier know very little about this back-breaking job and how many times we will tell our customers that items are not free...

1. "This item does not have a price on it. This must be free, Am I right? Ha-Ha."

Honey, I wish everything was free! But just because an item does not have a price on it does not mean it's free, and also..I have already heard that line 10+ times today.

2. When a customer hands you a $100 bill and says, "I promise I did not print this earlier today!"

I mean, if you DID print it, you would not be here, right? But, I STILL have to make sure the $100 bill is real.

3. "Your bagging sucks."

If you REALLY think my bagging sucks, there is another option I can give you. Self Check-Out. One time a lady got really mad at me for how I was bagging her stuff and the next couple of customers after her said that they were sorry about how she treated me. THERE IS STILL GOOD IN THE WORLD, PEOPLE!

4. When you are on your day off and you go to your work to get items.

This has happened to me multiple times since I worked at Walmart as a cashier. You need food, yeah let's go to WORK! Just how I want to spend my day off...going to work....

5. "Are you open?"

My light is on and I am standing at the end of my aisle waiting for customers, I PROMISE you I am open.

6. When the customer gets mad at you when you are about to log out of the register to leave work.

7. "Hi! I need seven separate transactions please!"

I actually do not mind doing this for customers, but it just takes FOREVER to do and then your line starts getting longer all the way to China and your head is basically exploding.

8. "Ma'am, Please-" SWIPE "It will not read your-" SWIPE "You need to-" SWIPE "It's not ready to-" SWIPE SWIPE SWIPE

If you are using a card, we have to press the "debit/credit" button before you can do anything, so PLEASE wait for that, otherwise it will not read your card and we have to start the whole process over again and I am sure you would LOVE to get out of here just like I do.

9. When a customer tells you to have a nice day, INSTANT HAPPY TEARS..

Us cashiers seriously LOVE when customers tell us to have a nice day, because deep down inside we are slowly dying and just need that instant boost of happiness

10. When the customer asks, "Do you have a chip reader?" for the hundredth time.

I have no clue how many times I have heard this since the banks started putting the chip readers on the debit/credit cards. I even caught myself asking this question when I went places.

11. When you FINALLY get off of work

Yes, you have guessed it! FREEDOM! There were times to where I did want to stay and work, but the other times, I booked it out of there faster than RoadRunner. #ByeFelicia.

Sometimes being a cashier is hard work, but it can also be rewarding. I have made some good friends while I worked at Walmart and I loved working with each of them, even though it was only for three months during the summer. (I had to leave for college to come here to Muncie) I did have a handful of rude customers and also a handful of wonderful customers, but just know that if a customer is being rude to you, SMILE. Do not take it personally like I did, because there were countless of times taking a trip to the bathroom to wipe the tears away.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
