11 Things Not To Give Your Girlfriend For Christmas

Ti's the season for sipping hot coco while wrapping yourself in a fuzzy blanket and wracking your brain trying to figure out what to get your significant other for Christmas! No matter how long you two have been together, sadly shopping for each other never gets any easier. Although the possiblities are endless for what they might want, here are a few things to avoid (unless they specifically ask for it):

1. Anything in a ring sized box that is not a ring

She's going to be really excited then really disappointed once she's sees that what she thought was a ring is actually a pair of earrings.

2. Cleaning supplies

Although her place may be spotless every time you come over believe me, she doesn't enjoy cleaning. It's not as fun as Disney movies makes it look.

3.Clothes that you're not sure are going to fit

If they're too big, she'll be upset that you actually think she's that big. If they're too small, she'll think you're trying to hint that she should lose weight. Either way you lose.

4.Gym Membership/ Exercise Equipment

Unless your girl just really loves working out, she'll think you're trying to hint at something.

5.Something cheap packaged in a Versace box (or any other luxury brand)

So much disappointment.

6. Something you bought at CVS on the way over

This screams "last minute gift" and I think she'd rather you admit that you forgot.

7. Anything Christmas-themed

She'll only be able to wear/ use it once a year and what's the fun in that?

8. Stuffed Animals

She's not a baby anymore (even if you call her that). Yes, these can be cute but ultimately it'll end up collecting dust under her bed somewhere.

9.Something she already has but you didn't bother to check

Awkward. Especially if it's the same thing you bought her last year.

10.Spanx

This is the equivalent of telling your girlfriend "Yes, you do look fat in that dress but this can help you look less fat!"

11.Lingerie

Although most women love cute underwear, we love cute and functional underwear even more. If it's just something pretty for you to look at, it probably won't make a good gift.

The older we get, the more we realize that the things we want at Christmas time can't be bought. Often times a simple thoughtful gift will make her happier than an extravagent expensive gift so try not to break the bank. Giving gifts is just one way to show someone you love them but it's not the only way, so try to remember what's really important during the holidays.

Merry Christmas!!!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
