Being that I am now a sophomore in college, I still miss some things about high school. To be completely honest there are some days that I wish I was still in high school. I liked the days that I didn't have to worry about student loans and money all the time. When you graduate high school, college is like a whole new world. But in some ways, high school and college are the same. In college, you still have "cliques," like the popular girls, the quiet kids, the super smart kids, the sports teams. Also, the food, if you thought high school cafeteria food was bad just wait till you get college. Depending on where you go to college the food can be really or really bad. At my university, the food is a hit or miss. I truly do miss high school and here is what I miss.

1. My friends

The number one thing I miss about high school is not seeing my friends every day. We all go different schools and we try to stay in contact as much as possible.

2. Snow Days

In college, snow days don't exist! If there is snow on ground, professors don't care. So forget about that extra day sleep.

3. My teachers

In high school, my teachers were awesome! They pretty much saw everyone grow up. I used stop in and talk to them during study halls or lunch.

4. Cheerleading

I was a four-year varsity cheerleader and captain my senior year. I have been cheering first grade and I did two years of competitive cheering as well. I would anything to be able to cheer again!

5. Pep Rallies

Being cheerleader, we always planned the pep rallies. We had a pep rallies for every home game and then a bonfire pep rally for our last game of the season. Pep rallies got you out of class early and sometimes out of school early depending on when they ended, I had a love/hate relationship with pep rallies but I do miss planning them and doing them.

6. Friday Night Football Games

The best day of the week! I miss cheering under the lights in front of crowd. We always had a student section that did theme nights. It was great way to see everyone in the community in place.

7. Cafeteria Food

I know said before that cafeteria was pretty bad but there was some food that was good. Like Taco Day, Sub Day, and Turkey Dinner Day were always good days.

8. High School Homework

In high school, I never had nights where I had a lot of homework but I still had a decent amount of work. In high school homework seemed super easy but not in college. In college, homework NEVER stops! You will always have work to do, like papers, presentations, projects, textbook problem. I never had to pull all-nighters until I came to college.

9. Lockers

I miss not being able to put all my stuff into a locker. It might sound that I miss that but I do. If you forget something for class it was easy to be able to go to your locker and grab it but in college, if you forget something you are pretty much screwed.

10. Prom

I miss prom!! Every time that prom season rolls around, I miss dress shopping, I miss seeing everyone dressed up and I miss just enjoying a night with my friends.

11. Movie Days

Movie Day for a class were the best! Those days meant that you didn't have to actually do work during class. All you had to do was sit and pay attention to the movie. Well in college, no movie day, always boring lectures.

High school was the best four years of my life. Never take for granite all that high school has to offer because once you graduate, everything changes. But college is a whole new chapter in your life that lets you create new memories. College can also be the best four years of your life!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
