Summer is great and all, but I'm ready for it to be over.

So, for some of us summer is almost over! I return to school in less than a month, and I am kind of freaking out. The end of summer always brings mixed emotions, but here are some things I won't miss.

1. Sweat. So much sweat.

When you live in Texas, you sweat within five minutes of being outside. I can't wait for the fall because I won't die every time I walk outside.

2. Mosquitoes.

They are everywhere! I was enjoying some peace and quiet time in my backyard, and I got bit at least six times by mosquitoes. I will not miss those pesky insects when the fall comes around.

3. You won't be bored all the time.

Summer is great! You have no schedule and can do all sorts of fun things. Well, nine out of 10 times I have nothing to do, so I just sit on my butt all day or sleep.

4. It won't be hot anymore.

It's just so hot outside all the time. When fall and winter roll around I won't miss the heat.

5. Sunburns.

Laying out all day by the pool is super relaxing, but sunburns are real and they hurt. If you've spent more than two hours in the sun you know the agony of a sunburn.

6. Not being able to make plans outside.

I mean, you can, but you will be sweating the whole time. I miss being able to take hikes, hammock, and enjoy outdoor activities without the heat.

7. The random downpours.

When it's summer, I rarely think about rain. Whenever I am out enjoying the sun, and it randomly starts pouring I am not a fan of that.

8. Having to wear sunblock all the time.

It smells weird, and I hate having to constantly reapply it.

9. The constant humidity.

The humidity makes it so much hotter than it feels. Also humidity does wonders for people with naturally curly hair.

10. The crowds at any type of park.

In the summer it means vacation and getting to go to Six Flags, waterparks, having picnics, going to museums, etc. The lines are ridiculous everywhere you go, and you can never enjoy peace and quiet with crowds.

11. Feeling like you need to constantly take a shower.

Walking from my front door to my car, I sweat. We all have that constant feeling of needing to take a shower before and after work.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
