The 4th of July is one of the best parts of the summer. Although it means that summer is about halfway over, I think it is one of the best holidays of the year. Here are some of the best things about the 4th of July.
1. Fireworks
Who doesn't love all the cool firework shows there are leading up to the 4th of July? I love watching all of the pretty colors and shaped fill the sky.
2. Food
Nothing screams 4th of July better than an American BBQ. Hotdogs, brats, corn on the cob, fruit salad, and potato chips to name a few. Grilled food is the best food!
3. Color Scheme
Everyone loves dressing up in all of their red, white, and blue attire. Some people will even have American Flag shirts too. You can't forget your American flag temporary tattoos, necklaces, and bandanas too!
4. Family and Friends
Most people are given the day off of work on the 4th of July. It is the perfect day to spend time with all your family and friends.
5. Parties
What better way to spend the 4th of July than having or going to a party?
6. Cool Desserts
We all have that one relative who makes the cool red, white, and blue layered jello or American flag chocolate covered strawberries.
7. Games
Bean bag tournaments and pickup baseball games with family members are a must.
8. Songs
Classic American songs should be sung and played all day. The Star Spangles Banner, God Bless America, Born in the USA, Party in the USA, and many more.
9. Good Weather
The best 4th of July's are always the ones where it is 80 degrees and sunny, not a cloud in the sky.
9. Watermelon
The perfect summer fruit on a hot day. When I think of the 4th of July I think of slices of Watermelon.
10. Sparklers
Every child's eyes light up as they hold their first sparkler. It is so fun to try to write your name in the air or draw a picture with them.
11. All things America
Remember how lucky you are to live in the best country in the world and all the freedoms you have here. Appreciate and pray for those who fought and continue to fight for our freedoms.
