Summer is here, and what better way to spend a rainy day than lying in your bed and binge watching amazing shows? Rest assured I have concocted a list of my absolute favorite shows to watch when it is too miserable to be outside:
1. "The Sopranos"
Who doesn't love a great show about the New Jersey mob? This HBO legendary series depicts the rise and fall of Tony Soprano and his family. If you take anything away from watching this show, you'll learn snitches and rats never survive.
2. "Law and Order: SVU"
My all-time, absolute favorite show hands down. With over 16 seasons of incredible episodes of scumbags being taken off the street, SVU never fails to disappoint. You can usually catch it on the USA Network. Benson and Stabler are the ultimate crime solving duo.
3. "The Office"
A classic. I have never seen an episode of "The Office" that wasn't funny. The episodes are short so before you know you it, you blow through an entire season in half of a day. Highly recommended.
4. "Keeping Up With The Kardashians"
No shame at all. I always find myself watching this cringe-worthy show because it's so stupid and still it's good. I find myself slightly dumber after every episode, but it's fun to see the lives of the Kardashian's right before your eyes.
5. "Real Housewives of New Jersey"
This has to be in my top five, all-time favorite shows. I love how every episode has more drama than someone's entire four years of high school. It's so great. The houses are big, the materialistic behavior is even bigger. Every episode is so scripted it's comical. Definitely a must watch.
6. "Grey's Anatomy"
Grab the tissues. Ah "Grey's," a very emotional, drama-filled series that follows the lives of doctors and physicians in Seattle, Washington. It has set the bar high for finding your person at work, and Derek Shepherd is literally the most perfect human being I have ever seen. Great doctor, great husband, easy on the eyes. Now, if only we can all find our own Derek Shepherd's.
7. "Degrassi"
Amazing. If you are lucky enough to catch old episodes you are in for a treat. This show is incredible. The plot lines are cheesy and very cliche, but something about it just makes you want to live in Canada and attend Degrassi High School. Can't forget Drake had his debut on this show; before he was shot by a psychotic student drenched in paint and feathers. If you watch it you'll see what I mean. A+ material.
8. "Gossip Girl"
You are lying to yourself if you say you don't like this show. Chuck Bass, Serena van der Woodsen, Blair Waldorf, these characters are timeless. Centered around the privileged youth living New York City, it follows their day-to-day lives. Gossip, rumors, revenge, fights, anything you can imagine it has happened in this show.
9. "Full House"
Everybody loves "Full House." How can you not? A cheesy, family-oriented show with corny jokes and lessons to be learned at the end of every episode. I love it. I'm a big fan of this one, especially the theme song. Great show, great cast.
10. "Desperate Housewives"
A true classic. As you can probably tell by now, my television taste is pretty cheesy, but I love it. This show follows a pretty brilliant plot and focuses on the lives of families living on a street in a suburban neighborhood. All the drama, fights, and happy endings are all documented within the show. Sad it ended, but it's a great choice if you are stuck in a show hole.
11. "The People's Couch"
A must see. Whoever thought of the idea of creating a series about people's reactions to watching shows is brilliant. I always hope to be on this show one day, it's really cool. All different perspectives of people watching the same series, and the commentary is hilarious.
Since it's summer, we will encounter some rainy days. Take some time for yourself and indulge in some great shows. You won't regret it.
