To be honest, I had never really gotten the chance to watch TED Talks until a dear friend showed me the video regarding attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). One after another, they began to catch on and really spoke to me. Here are a few videos that should really be watched and can actually be highly relatable:
1. Tom Uglow: An Internet without screens might look like this
https://www.ted.com/talks/tom_uglow_an_internet_without_screens_might_look_like_this
The concept of having our modern day society without screens seems almost impossible to imagine. The way that Uglow describes the world without screens is beautifully orchestrated. He describes the relationship between the screen and the human by addressing all five senses and how it acts as a reward.
2.Theo Siggelakis: Living with ADHD in the age of information and social media
This was phenomenally done by one of our own Quinnipiac students, Theo Siggelakis. The way that he explains the life of a person with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder is absolutely correct and well put. For a person who has attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, it was very reassuring and comforting to see someone explain what the "disorder" really means.
3. Alice Bows-Larkin: Climate change is happening. Here’s how we adapt
Do we sit back and relax or do we make a little more effort to change some of our daily habits?
4. Emilie Wapnick: Why some of us don’t have one true calling

5. Taiye Selasi : Don’t ask where I’m from, ask where I’m a local
We are not comprised of where we originate from. Therefore, we should not be defined as such, but rather, what we have become from our surroundings.

Puppy love is always easy. However, everything after can go down hill.

7.Barry Schwartz: The way we think about work is broken
Working gives us purpose so that when we die we feel like we’ve made an impact.

8. Johann Hari: Everything you think you know about addiction is wrong
Johann Hari talks about his theory that addiction is about bonding and the human need for something to be connected to. Having healthy connections to other things helps. What do you think?

9. Bill Gross: The single biggest reason for why startups succeed
What matters most for success is not the relevance of the idea, the finances, etc. It is the timing!

10. Dawn Landes: A song for my hero, the woman who rowed into a hurricane
If she can get through a hurricane then you can get through anything!

11.Alice Goffman: College or prison two destinies one blatant
Remember The Other Wes Moore? The similar discussion that some people come out of adolescence prepared for college and others come out ready for prison. The U.S. sets up young people for two destinations.
