Moving away from college is tough. Adjusting to a new place, leaving friends and family, and just getting used to a whole different life can be a difficult and emotional experience. But if we are being completely honest here, there is one aspect of moving away from home that never seems to to get better over time....your childhood pet. Your furry little friend is something you hold so dear, and when you move away without them, its almost like losing a piece of your heart. Here are just some of the stages of withdrawal that come with having a long distance relationship with your pet:

1. When you come home for break, you are low key more excited to see your pet than anyone else...

2. When you FaceTime your parents make them hold your pet up to the camera...

3. And they just stare at you super confused when you try to baby talk them over FaceTime...

4. You harass your college friends by forcing them to look at pictures of your pets...

5. And when you go home, you snapchat story is made up entirely of pictures of your pet

6. You have to hold every dog you see on campus to fill the void...

7. You try to make up for your loss by adopting a fish, but its just not the same

8. 8. You dress them up when you're home for the holiday because you're a jerk!

9. You have real fears that your pet is going to forget about you

10. And when you do come home, you force your pets to love you

11. But through it all, you and your furry friend will be best friends forever!
