"When music was still good." For us millennials, we find ourselves saying this almost every time we hear a throwback of a song we listened to as a child. These were the songs we all knew and loved, the songs we had on our first generation iPod Nano's, the songs we probably didn't understand the actual meaning of at the time, and the fsongs that now define our childhood. No matter how old these songs become, there is no expiration date on good music and the way they will always bring out our inner childhood.
1. "Heartless" by Kanye West
The good old days before Kanye went too Kanye.
2. "Party in the USA" by Miley Cyrus
Little did we know, this was only the beginning of Hannah Montana's party animal days.
3. "I Love College" by Asher Roth
At this point of our lives, college was far too distant in the future to really be thinking of. However this song made us excited for it, and we sang it passionately as if it applied to us.
4. "Girlfriend" by Avril Lavigne
We all had that someone we applied this song to because they were flirting a bit too much with our crush at recess.
5. "Umbrella" by Rihanna
Even now as adults, one simply cannot choose to not sing this song when sharing an umbrella with someone.
6. "Laffy Taffy" by D4L
Probably a bit inappropriate to be listening to at the time, but hey, for all we knew it was just an innocent song about candy!
7. "Fergilicious" by Fergie
Shoutout to Fergie for hooking us up on spelling tests.
8. "Kiss Me Thru the Phone" by Soulja Boy
Admit it- you called "678-999-8212" at least once to see if it was Soulja Boy's real number.
9. "Tim McGraw" by Taylor Swift
This was the first time we all heard of what is now a household name- Taylor Swift- and we couldn't help but wonder if this song was actually about her love affair with Tim McGraw.
10. "Thnks Fr Th Mmrs" by Fall Out Boy
The go-to song to sing at the top of your lungs during long bus rides.
11. "When I'm Gone" by Eminem
It's just one of those songs everyone knew and was excited when they finally could rap even the fastest parts.
