Every squad has one, every squad needs one. Without the mom, the squad would not function properly, people wouldn’t make it home, ubers wouldn’t be called, phones would be left in the bathroom...you get the point.
I have been the squad mom as long as I can remember. I think it has to do with my car; I inherited a 2002 Honda Pilot that carries seven people. It’s the ultimate mom car, and in high school I was everyone’s main mode of transportation because I could fit the entire squad in my car. When I made new friends in college, I ultimately became squad mom again. I love being the mom….most of the time. Here are some signs you might just be the squad mom, too.
1. You rally the troops to go out and get where you’re going on time.
2. You call the Uber.
3. You hold hair.
4. You lock the door.
5.You try to make people go to class and study.
6. You’re nice to their boyfriends, but bring the hammer down when necessary.
7. You consult, advise and counsel.
8. You DD when you aren’t going out.
9. You make sure everyone is accounted for when you’re leaving the bar.
10. You walk people home.
11. You give a lot of hugs. I really love hugging.
Being a squad mom can be hard sometimes, but it can be worth it when you spend the night taking care of everyone & end up having all the stories in the morning.
