From a Golden Retriever, to a Bulldog or a Beagle, there are over 100 dog breeds for people to fall in love with. Anyone who has had a dog in their life understands what it is like to truly love and be loved in return. What some know as "man's best friend" has turned into an obsession for me and here are some ways to tell if your love for your dog has gone to an obsession.
1. You wish your dog had a phone so you could call him/her anytime you are not with them.
As a college student it is especially hard to say goodbye to my one-year-old Golden Retriever because it is hard to know when the next time I will see him will be.
2. Any dog you see and you're like...
3. You throw a birthday party for your dog.
From cake to party hats, there is no holding back when it comes to your pup.
4. You search the internet for puppy videos.
Puppies falling down the stairs or running in the yard, absolutely any video with a dog makes you smile and cry tears of joy.
5. Dog hair does not faze you.
Dog hair can be found on your clothes and even in your bed, but at this point you could care less as long as your dog is cuddled up with you.
6. You bought your pup his/her own plastic pool.
They have to enjoy the summer too!
7. You refer to your dog as your baby.
Spoiled does not even begin to describe him/her.
8. You buy him/her gifts on a regular basis and when holidays roll around you go overboard.
Birthday, Christmas and even Easter, your pup can expect presents.
9. You have the urge to dress them up in outfits.
Halloween costume? Check. Santa hat? Of course!
10. You get upset when someone calls your dog a dog and not a member of the family.
Your dog can do anything a person can do!
