School is officially out of session and summer is in! Now that finals are over, it's time to relax. Put your feet up, sleep until noon and catch up on your shows. If you're anything like me, you don't really have much time to watch TV during the school semester.
I save most of my catching up for the holiday breaks. If you have nothing to catch up on, take a peek at what you could be watching this summer. Most of them are comedies, but sneak to the end for some dramas!
1. "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt"
This show has all the comedy you could ever need. There are stereotypes everywhere that slowly redeem themselves as the seasons go on. It's produced by Tina Fey, so the hilarity is there. Netflix just released the third season, so this is bound to provide hours of entertainment!
2. "The Mindy Project"
A doctor in New York who is always in a love triangle, and gets into hilarious mischief? What more could you ask for? Mindy also speaks what every girl thinks on a daily basis. Take a note guys.
3. "Trial and Error"
A funny little show about the trial of a husband who is on trial for murdering his wife. You'll see some familiar faces while busting a gut laughing at the laws this small town still enforces. You'll be hoping this little gem gets picked up for a second season.
4. "Superstore"
A play off of everyone's favorite warehouse store, this comedy follows employees of Cloud 9. With two seasons under the belt, you may start to think this store is real.
5. "The Goldbergs"
Based loosely off of true events from the 80s, Adam F. Goldberg does it again with his comedies. The stories he tells of his family will remind you to call your mom and tell her that you love her.
6. "Brooklyn Nine-Nine"
Another cop show, but surprisingly a comedy. As different personalities clash in the precinct, see how they can use them to catch the guys.
7. "American Housewife"
Katie is us whenever we grow older. She is our spirit animal. Katie doesn't care what the other moms think (or what her children think for that matter). All that matters is that her family is getting what they need in life. It doesn't hurt that she provides witty banter to the other moms.
8. "The Mick"
Another comedy about someone taking care of someone else's children. This time, the parents are on the run from the FBI. The kids? Filthy rich.
9. "Riverdale"
Based off of the dark side of "Archie Comics," this won't let down fans of the series. With new and familiar faces, this show will provide some suspense that will make you go, "What!?".
10. "Orange is the New Black"
An oldie, but a goodie. Working on its 5th season, OITNB is on everyone's radar. If you haven't seen any episodes yet, start watching before the new season drops soon.
11. "Sherlock"
A long time coming, Series 4 is finally out. This BBC drama is perfect for those who like Doctor Who. After several years of waiting (although not uncommon with "Sherlock"), the next season is out and ready to swallow.
Everything can be found on either Netflix or Hulu. Happy streaming!
