Confession time: I have been watching Supernatural since I was nine years old… and I’m about to be twenty this winter. It’s crazy, I know, but this should tell you something about how amazing this show truly is! I have been watching it for almost eleven years now and I haven’t missed a season or even an episode since! Obviously, this show is perfection, and here’s why you need to start watching today.
1. Hot men everywhere!
Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki are two of the most gorgeous men I have ever seen on this planet. It doesn’t really matter what your sexuality is, but you can always appreciate true beauty and, dare I say it… perfection!
2. Brotherly bonding
Supernatural is a story about two estranged brothers who begin fighting monsters and ghosts together. Eleven wonderful seasons have passed by and each season brings a new set of trials and excitements while the brothers reconnect.
3. Monster hunting
I mean, come on! What can be cooler than two super hot guys fighting supernatural forces with guns and knives? Nothing! Plus, sometimes you can pretend that you’re the damsel in distress… or not, if that’s weird or anything.
4. That soundtrack
Supernatural has an amazing old rock soundtrack. From Jay Gruska to Kansas this show has all the good music to get you right into the demon-hunting mood.
5. Strong female characters
If Feminism is where it’s at, then Supernatural has got your back! Rowena, Charlie, Ruby, Joe, the list goes on! If you’ve ever wanted to watch a badass blonde chick wipe out an entire vampire nest by herself, then this is your show!
6. It’s actually pretty educational
In all honesty, you learn a lot about other cultures and practices. Each culture has a different kind of monster lore and a different ritual to combat it, so it’s actually pretty cool learning about what people around the world believe in.
7. You will be a part of one of the largest fandoms ever
Supernatural has one of the biggest followings of any show ever. Fans have taken over Facebook, Tumbler, and Twitter with their insane memes and hilarious inside jokes. I mean, why wouldn’t you want to be a part of that?
8. Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki treat their fans like family
Ever since the first episode Jenson and Jared have shared their lives with the fandom with everything. We’ve been there when the two got married and when they both started having children, all the while cheering on their happiness and silently cursing the fact that other women took them before we could.
9. You have eleven whole seasons to binge-watch on Netflix
Supernatural has been a thing for almost twelve years now, meaning that there are currently eleven available seasons to stream on Netflix right now. That should be enough to keep you busy for a week!
10. They've got some pretty bad-ass angels
I mean, Castiel is a pretty kickass angel of the lord. He wears a trench coat, has dark and mysterious wings, and kicks some pretty huge demon butt. I don't know about you, but none of that was in my Sunday school book!
11. It’s honestly just an amazing show
The cast, crew, and writers are all wonderful and caring people. They have created a show surrounded by family and love and this shows even through filming as well. I can’t see any reason why I shouldn’t support something as wonderful as that!
