There's something indescribably wonderful about being a nerd, about just being unapologetically enthusiastic about things. There's just a certain excitement that we get over things that we're passionate about. Whether it's books, poetry, movies, TV shows, animals, anime, or pretty much anything else under the sun if you're a nerd for anything, here are 11 things you'll definitely understand.
1. Discovering something new about what you love.
"What? There's something about this that I didn't know? This new information has completely changed my worldview and improved my life!"
2. Your reactions are sometimes a little over the top.
Despite whatever you may have heard, "fingerling" is not a bad thing.
3. Sometimes you have unwavering opinions about what you're passionate about.
I don't care if J.K. Rowling changed her mind, I still think Ron and Hermione are meant to be together.
4. Not everyone gets it.
5. Knowing everything about a certain topic can be... off putting. To some people.
Yes, I follow the entire cast on twitter. Who are you to judge?
6. Some people just can't handle it.
I get it we're a little annoying sometimes.
7. But at the same time, you're confident in who you are.
Plus, one of the coolest things in the world is seeing someone's face light up when they talk about something they're really passionate about.
8. Finding someone who shares your nerdy-ness.
Actually nothing better.
9. There are some moments where excitement cannot be contained.
Not that you would ever want to try and contain it.
10. You tend to get this face when you talk about your obsession.
And as I mentioned before, it's pretty wonderful.
11. This is part of who you are, and you would never change it.
There are far too many cynical people in this world. Nerds are the best because we get to love things. You aren't going to find a happier group of people, and what could possibly be wrong with that?
