What could be better than cozy sweaters and pumpkin spice everything?

11 Reasons Why I Fell For Fall

It's no surprise that fall is, and probably always will be, my favorite time of the year. Although it sounds utterly cliche, I love everything about this season. From the trendy outfit possibilities to my family's annual tradition of visiting the pumpkin patch, fall continues to hold a special place in my heart, as I look forward to it each year. In my opinion, fall begins the first time I'm able to retrieve my riding boots from the depths of my closet, and lingers until I decide to start listening to my holiday playlist on Spotify. Here are just a few of the reasons why I fell in love with fall:

1. Flannels

Honestly, is there anything better than wearing a shirt that feels like your coziest set of sheets? No. The answer is no. There are so many options on how to style flannels, as they come in a multitude of different colors and patterns.

2. Fall Scented Candles

With these names of these infamous candles consisting of the most decadent fall treats such as, "Pumpkin Carrot Cake" and "Roasted Pumpkin Butter", need I say more? I find myself stocking up on these the second they hit the displays each year. My collection only continues to pile up, and I don't even mind.

3. Visiting the Pumpkin Patch

One of my favorite fall activities is a trip to the pumpkin patch. Pictured above is a pumpkin patch near my hometown, where I've gone every year that I can remember. Besides the amazing scenery, this location offers hayrides, a craft barn full of homemade gifts, and the best bakery items imaginable.

4. Caramel Apples

Caramel Apples top the list of my favorite fall desserts. Endless possibilities exist for the toppings, my personal favorite being Heath chunks. The only problem with this gooey dessert is the slight mess it might make, but let's face it, it's so worth it.

5. Vests

Fall is the perfect time of the year to break out your puffer vests. The air is still brisk, but it's warm enough to get away with leaving your parka at home, in return for these stylish numbers. I believe you can never own too many vests. After all, vest weather is the best weather.

6. Pumpkin Flavored Everything

I might sound like the most basic person ever, but I'm a fan of anything pumpkin flavored. While I love a good pumpkin spice latte, I highly recommend the Pumpkin Swirl iced coffee from Dunkin' Donuts. I may have a slight obsession and can't bear the thought of the flavored syrup only being available for a few more weeks. In addition, I'll never pass up pumpkin bread, muffins, or pretty much anything else involving pumpkin for that matter.

7. The Movies

Growing up, Halloweentown was my favorite movie to watch in the fall. Now that I'm a little older, I still make it a priority to watch this movie at least once a year. Being able to hop on a school bus and be in a whole different world revolving around Halloween still seems pretty cool to me. And of course I'd be lying if I said I never wished I was Marnie Piper.

8. Autumn Foliage

Arguably one of the best things about fall is the color of of the leaves. The changing of the leaves is the trees having one last hurrah before they shed their leaves for a cold, long winter. I'm lucky enough to live in a state that even offers scenic fall foliage tours.

9. Boots

I'm a very happy person when it's finally time to break out my boots for the season. Aside from being both stylish and versatile, the best part about boots just may be that you can wear thick, warm fuzzy socks and no one will know.

10. Sweaters

Sweaters are a girl's best friend, and fall is the perfect time to wear them. Pair a cozy, chunky sweater under a vest and you're golden.

11. Halloween

Obviously, Halloween is awesome no matter what age you are. The costumes, the free candy, what could top that? The leftover Halloween candy going on sale a couple days after the holiday is never a bad thing, either.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
