There are many things I love about fall, from the smell of the leaves and the crisp air to the leaves changing colors. I also love pumpkin being in everything, from lotions to bagels to coffee. Lastly, I think I am able to dress the cutest in the fall! It's time to welcome fall with open arms and to say farewell to summer!
1. Wearing flannel, and riding and combat boots

I love wearing flannel, riding boots and even combat boots in the fall. A nice flannel will look gorgeous with a pair of skinny jeans and riding boots. When I am not wearing riding boots, I normally wear combat boots, which look good with about anything.
2. Wearing beanies and scarves
What else do flannels go with? Beanies. What else do beanies go with? Scarves. I also love wearing a beanie and a flannel, or a beanie and a scarf during the fall. I especially like wearing beanies when I take a shower in the morning and I don't feel like drying my hair. If you wear a beanie, no one will ever know that you have wet hair.
3. Going to the fair
This year was the first time in my whole life that I went to any kind of fair. I now want to make going to the Mountain State Fair a fall tradition! I love eating the fair food: fried Oreos, funnel cake, fresh-squeezed lemonade and don't forget roasted corn! I also love the adrenaline rush I get from riding my favorite rides: the Himalayas, the Cyclops and even the Pirate Ship. Nothing says fall like eating so much fried food that your stomach hurts!
4. Watching my favorite Halloween movies
Another of my favorite past times in the fall is to watch some of my favorite Halloween movies and eat caramel corn. My top two favorite Halloween movies of all time are "The Little Vampire" and "Hocus Pocus." These were some of my favorite Halloween movies as a kid, and they remind me of all the Octobers that I watched Halloween movies galore with my Dad. I can't wait to watch these movies with my family when I go home for fall break!
5. Going to bonfires
I love sitting around bonfires and feeling the warmth of the glow of the fire on my skin. I also love the smokey smell you get a whiff of even when you're a mile away from the fire pit. We have a fire pit here on campus at Mullens Park, and I love the community you feel while having jam sessions and eating s'mores by the fire. You know you are doing fall right when you come home smelling like smoke!
6. Using anything from the Bath & Body Works Fall Collection
Smelling like pumpkins, caramel, cinnamon and apples definitely gets you on the welcome wagon of fall. Today I went to the Asheville Mall with my friend McKenna, and I stepped into Bath & Body Works not one but two times to purchase stuff from their Fall Collection. Now I am all set and ready for fall, because wherever I go, I will smell fall in the air!
7. Drinking pumpkin spice lattes from Starbucks
Now, I know I sound so basic when I say this, but trust me, today is the first time ever that I tried a pumpkin spice latte. After tasting it, I can see what the fuss is all about. It tastes like hot chocolate, with a hint of pumpkin and spices. It is enough pumpkin to be delicious, but it isn't so much that it is overwhelming and too sweet. I am definitely treating myself to more pumpkin spice lattes before I say goodbye to fall and hello to spring!
8. Halloween in general

Everyone knows there can't be fall without Halloween! Some of my favorite Halloween memories are going trick-or-treating with my dad, brother and sister as a kid, and also carving pumpkins. As I got older, I enjoyed watching horror movies with my dad and then sitting on the driveway around the bonfire with my mom and dad, and handing out candy to all of the little kids. It is also fun to dress up our furry friends!
9. Eating roasted pumpkin seeds

After carving pumpkins with my family, as a child and even now, my mom would roast the pumpkin seeds. Nothing screams fall like roasted pumpkin seeds with salt and pepper!
10. Seeing the leaves change color
The best thing EVER about fall is watching the leaves change color. There are so many beautiful colors shown on leaves from each part of the color spectrum. Since I now live in the Appalachian Mountains here in Asheville, North Carolina, I can't wait for the leaves to change so I can ride through the Blue Ridge Parkway and take beautiful, Instagram-worthy pictures!
These are some of the main reasons why I love fall so much! I can't wait to jump into a pile of leaves and take in everything fall has to offer! It only has been fall for a couple of days, but it already feels and smells like fall. I am waiting for the leaves to change color and to embrace one of my small pleasures in life. Fall is now here and summer is gone, so welcome fall by grabbing your favorite drink, putting on a flannel, a beanie and your favorite riding boots, and trying some pumpkin waffles! Happy fall!
With love until next time,
Jordan Nicole
