A childhood friend is someone who has been there from the start. Almost every major event growing up, they were there. Their family and home were like your own and vice versa. You couldn't imagine childhood or life without them. If you are lucky like me, you still have your childhood ride or die by your side. Thank you Emily for always being by my side. I love you so much. We have been through it all together. Sometimes you can forget all the things you have to thank your friend for.
1. Their Honesty
Most friends would beat around the bush with you, but a true childhood friend will always be ready to be brutally honest. They might hurt your feelings, but it's coming from a place of love. My childhood friend will always tell me the truth even when I get mad (I get over it in a day).
2. Their Support
They were there when you got braces and will be there when you get married. I know that every time I do something, my childhood BFF is there rooting for me the whole time. And I will always be there for her.
3. The memories
You two have so many memories together, they were the main part of your childhood. The memories are unlimited and sometimes embarrassing.
4. The trust
You have an unbreakable bond with your childhood friend; you two have told each other everything and it has stayed between the two of you.
5. Having no Boundaries together
The two of you have no boundaries with each other. You probably pee when they're in the bathroom with you (my childhood friend and I do that). You are so comfortable together.
6. Their unconditional love
They love you no matter what, they are there for you even when you're being a brat. My friend was there for me even when I wrapped myself up in a boy. She always loved me and vice versa.
7. Their family
Your best friend's family is a second family to you. They have opened their arms to you when you first came over and they haven't closed them since. It's your favorite house besides your own.
8. Their loyalty
Your childhood friend will always be there for you and they won't go anywhere. Even if you don't talk for a few months, you still rely on each other.
9. The tough times
When times get tough, your childhood best friend is there for you all the time. The hard times make you appreciate them and all that they do.
10. Their sense of humor
You love your childhood best friend's goofiness so much; you have been together so long that your humor is the same.
11. Their Strength
I have admired my best friend's strength for the last 11 years. She is my rock, though she doesn't think so. I have admired her ability to get past everything tough in her life.
