Out of all the collegiate teams the U.S. has out there, which team do you fangirl for? Whether it be football, equestrian or perhaps just where to attend college, we know you want the best of the best. Who doesn't? Well, I'm here to help you out a little bit. Here are 11 reasons NOT to be a Pokes fan. I mean, Loyal & True, are we really?
1. We are super unfriendly.
No matter who you are, where you come from, or even your dreams, you won't find a soul who supports you. You won't ever make friends, and our mascot is the unfriendliest one of all.
2. We are way too bright. Like all the time.
There's orange everywhere. Stillwater is full of it. I mean, what a hassle. "America's Brightest Orange" is plastered everywhere you go. How annoying.
3. The weather is always the same.
We have the same weather all year long. Especially during finals week, there's never any tornadoes or anything. If you want weather that keeps you on your toes, you better go somewhere else.
4. Our wrestling team is awful.
We have never won a national wrestling championship, not even one. Let alone 34.
5. Our homecoming is soooo boring.
No one gets involved. Students don't spend an entire semester preparing and pomping their hearts out - no way. It's not the biggest homecoming in the nation or anything.
6. The campus is so ugly.
With over 25,000 students enrolled, no wonder this place looks so awful. There's no time to keep it looking spick and span when you have that many students.
7. No one has school pride.
We don't wear orange on Fridays, rock collegiate-wear everywhere we go, nor do we say "Go Pokes!" any chance we get.
8. There's no free food during finals week.
Why would we treat our students during the most crucial week of the semester? That's absurd.
9. Our hotdogs are awful.
We don't have any go-to or late-night-snack food options here in Stillwater.
10. No one cool is from Stillwater.
We don't have any country singers, actors or even a pro-golfers that attended OSU. Not one.
11. You won't feel at home.
Stepping foot on Oklahoma State's campus doesn't make you feel instantly at home. It doesn't bring you joy, happiness or pride. You won't ever feel like you belong as if you're a part of something much bigger than yourself. Being a Pokes fan won't be the best decision you ever make. You won't meet your very best friends, figure out who you are or what you want to do with your life. Take my advice, don't invest in the greatest university in the nation.
