11 Reasons I'm Thankful For My Family

I am so very thankful for my family. The good, the bad, and the ugly. You guys have been there through it all and are still loving me, so thanks for that. I wouldn't trade you guys for the world. 11 reasons will never explain how thankful I am for y'all, but I'll give it a shot.

You can't choose em', but sometimes, that makes all the difference.

Here's 11 reasons why I am so thankful for my family:

1. You guys are crazy. But I mean that in the nicest way possible. You never fail to make me laugh 'til I cry, and always have some crazy story to tell. And if you don't have a crazy story, well, we will probably make one.

2. I can always count on you guys. No matter what, you're always there for me. I know I can call at any time in the night, and you'll answer. You may not be happy, but you'll answer. I can also count on you to always share my most embarrassing moments with any new friends I bring around... Thanks for that.

3. You put me in my place. Yes, I may hate this at times, but you're not afraid to hurt my feelings or tell me I am doing something wrong. Thanks for being tough on me when I need it.

4. You are beautiful inside and out. Not only have y'all got the looks, but you have the kindest, most amazing hearts on Earth. I'm so thankful for the good looks and sweet hearts, as they're something I can aspire to be more like.

5. You're always proud of me. No matter what I do, you're proud of it. I love that you always think I do a great job, even when I feel like the biggest failure. You're pride in me helps more than you'll ever know.

6. You taught me to love God. Not only by your word, but by your actions, you have helped lead me to the greatest love there is, and I cannot be more thankful for that.

7. You support me. No matter if it is money, advice, or words of encouragement, you give it to me. You are always there when I need you and I can always have you as an amazing support system. Thank you for that, because not many kids have that.

8. You taught me how to treat others. Not to bully, not to laugh at, and to always help and compliment. "Treat others how you want to be treated" is engraved into my brain, and it surely has paid off. There is no greater feeling than knowing you're treating others well.

9. You refuse to give up on me. Notice how I said "refuse?" This is because I have given you more than enough reasons to give up on me, and yet you're still standing behind me 100 percent, no matter how many times I mess up. Sorry to say this, but I will probably mess up maybe a few more times. Thanks for standing behind me.

10. You're my number one motivators. If it's beating dad at how many juggles we can get or just to make you guys proud, it pushes me to be the best person I can be. Every day I strive to improve myself and make YOU more than proud of me. Thanks for always encouraging me and pushing me to be the best that I can be.

11. You take the time to listen. This is so important. My bad days and my great days, I know I can always call you and you will just listen. You don't just pretend you're listening, but you actually hang on to every word I say. Thanks for being an open ear no matter how much I may complain.

Although we may have our ups and downs, I wouldn't redo a single day. I love y'all so so so much and can never tell you how thankful I am to have you as my family. I love you.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
