From the food to the freedom, we all can't wait to go back.

11 Reasons We Miss College During The Summer
Why So Blu

College is where hours are spent slaving over a textbook that seems foreign. A place where money is tossed around like candy on halloween. A place where success derives from tears and long late night phone calls. However, college is more then that. We all hate the work and the time college eats up but we all know that college is flat out amazing. We can't wait to go on summer break but when it actually comes around we can't wait to go back. Well here's why.

1. The Freedom

There are no parents telling you to get a job, no siblings barging into precious Netflix time, and nobody telling to put some clothes on around the house. Just a man, his boxers, and a large extra buttered popcorn.

2. The Food

You can eat whatever, whenever you want. Mom's not there to stock the fridge with water bottles and celery. It's just beer and cheez-doodles.

3. The Winter Bod

People always go crazy trying to get into their summer body. They try to look their best for the summer so they can go to the beach without a doubt of self confidence. Well you have the whole school year to work on your winter bod. Just packing on some weight for the winter coat.

4. The Friends

You get your gang back. The people you almost got arrested with last semester. The people that never fail to get you belligerent and make you miss your 8 a.m.

5. Your Crappy Dorm/Apt

Yeah it's a sh*t whole. Yeah, it smells like beef and cheese. So what if the window is shattered. It's home and that is the way we like it. It may not have a mom's touch but it still feels like home.

6. Meal Plans

One of the best things about going back to college is the idea of not having to visually shred all the money you have on food. You just swipe an endless card and food awaits. I know, paradise.

7. The Intoxication

Nobody back home could meet your level of party. At college, you surround yourself with the same crazy people who have no problem taking consecutive tequila shots.

8. The New Friends

In a school where growth is as present as pencils, it's impossible not to meet new people each semester. I have met a new friend that has stayed around each semester I have been at college and I'm looking forward for what's to come.

9. The Care Packages

Being away from the parents is a blessing to both parties, however, times come around where nostalgia hit in and parents get sentimental. We know damn well that when we are home, eating all their food, and sleeping all day, they couldn't care less about surprising us but when we are away. It's presents left and right. One week it's chocolate, the next its a plane ticket home.

10. The Attitude

When at college, we all have a different mind set. It's just to enjoy life. Being around good people at an awesome place, we are just genuinely happy. We eat what we want, do work when we care, and sleep all day. It's just fun.

11. Being One Step Closer

Finishing college is all about taking it one step at a time. Imagine each step being a semester. Climb each step without falling at you'll reach the top. Getting our degree is the primary reason for us being in college. Each semester is a milestone and going back to school means getting one step closer to the goal.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
