Dreaming of high fives and Tennessee skies? You must have caught the Bonnaroovian fever -- and probably for good reason. Recently, Conan O'Brian took to his late night show to announce the lineup for the southern music festival and to some surprise, mixed vibes were abundant. However, here are 11 reasons this year's Bonnaroo spectacular is sure to be the best one yet!
1. Kamasi Washington
More than likely, you have listened to the brilliance of Mr. Washington without even knowing it. This groovy saxophonist and composer has worked with the likes of Ms. Lauryn Hill, Nas, and Snoop Dogg. Remember that killer saxophone on Kendrick Lamar's "To Pimp A Butterfly"? You can thank Kamasi Washington for that. His show is bound to have your heart racing and your feet moving ASAP.
2. The Bluegrass Situation ft. Ed Helms
This group has been a Bonnaroovian favorite for the past few years. Mixed with a plethora of other artists for a downhome, bluegrass Super Jam, the Bluegrass Situation men prove time and time again that Ed Helms is possibly the love of your life. Who doesn't love a man who is hilarious and can pick a banjo?
3. Nathanial Rateliff and the Night Sweats
Your soul is not prepared for this show. Nathanial Ratelif and the Night Sweats' gospel, blues, and folk sound is sure to make your blood boil, especially during their hit song "SOB." This group makes the music you wish you could party to, but you know your liver and cardio abilities will not allow it. I would start running, now.
4. Grace Potter
If you have ever wanted a woman to slay your heart by absolutely overpowering a stage, look no further. Grace Potter is one of the most unique blues rock musicians around with her sweet yet hard-hitting sound. To get a small taste of this female powerhouse, check out her songs "Joey" and "Paris," and prepare to fall in love.
5. Judd Apatow and Friends
Bonnaroovians were stoked to hear the famous director was stopping by the farm this year, but there were definitely some questions being thrown around. Most importantly, who are these friends? Seth Rogan? Leslie Mann? Paul Rudd? Whoever it is, it is guaranteed that socks will be knocked off.
6. HAIM
This sister trio is another Bonnaroo favorite. From their gut-busting pop rock to Este's infamous "bass face," they definitely know how to get a crowd moving. Check out their song "The Wire" to prepare for their legendary show.
7. Macklemore and Ryan Lewis
It's been three years since the Grammy-winning duo has graced the Farm with their presence, and the Bonnaroo family could not be more excited for their return. There will be a lot of dancing, a lot of motivational words, and a lot of people screaming "Downtown" in their best Eric Nally voice. Disappointment is not even an option for this show.
8. Halsey
Break out the blue hair dye because after you see Halsey for the first time, you are going to want to be her best friend in blue hair heaven. This smoking hot firecracker rocked the music scene with her single "New Americana," proving that she is already so much cooler than you are -- and we love her for it. Her "do you" attitude and flawless vocals will win you over during the first song.
9. Chris Stapleton
I am not sure if it is necessary to explain why Chris Stapleton will absolutely own Bonnaroo this year. After his exploding performance with Justin Timberlake on the CMA stage, this Kentucky native has more than earned the respect and adoration of music fans everywhere. You probably already know "Tennessee Whiskey" like the back of your hand, but for a more heartbreaking, soul-shaking sound, listen to "Sometimes I Cry."
10. J. Cole
Do yourself a favor and learn every word to "No Role Modelz" before driving down to Manchester. You will not regret it. J. Cole has been changing the music scene since his first day, and his 2011 Bonnaroo visit did not disappoint. However, given his massive success since his last "This Tent" stop, I'm sure he will be headlining a main stage this year!
11. Flushable Toilets
And the congregation said, "Amen."
