11 Quotes To Get Through The First Few Weeks Of College

College is hard. I've been considered a college student for three full semesters and I still have no idea what the heck i'm doing. I'm constantly asking when assignments were due, how to do them and where I am, because let's face it, I'm lost. And i'm not just lost as in location also in general. So here's some quotes as we go through these first few weeks of classes. Remember ya'll we got this.

1. Do what you can, with what you have, where you are- Theodore Roosevelt

One thing you will learn very quickly about college students are that we are all secretly genius. We have to make things work with very limited supplies, and somehow we do it, and we rock at it! We learn to make the best of any situation very quickly.

2. No matter how you feel, get up. Dress up. Show up. And never give up.

It was the third day of classes and I already was wanting to skip class and enjoy some netflix. But then I was reminded that some people do not have the chance to further their education. I'm blessed to be able to experience what this college has to offer, and I refuse to never take advantage of these resources.

3. Anything's possible if you've just got enough nerve- J.K. Rowling

College is that one time where you are provided with endless opportunities and are free from judgement. Everyone is trying to find their place in this crazy world. Work hard and you can achieve anything!

4. What feels like the end is often the beginning

Nearly everyday of college you feel like your life is going to end because you forgot something, did bad on assignment or haven't seen your dog in months. All this stress will strengthen us and we will be able to use our strength to crush this grown-up world thing.

5. Successful people never worry about what others are doing

Gone are the days where you are concerned about what others think or how others behave. You no longer have to fit into that ridiculous clique. Be yourself, trust me there are others out there exactly like you, and that will love your weirdness no matter what!

6. Just because it took longer than others, doesn't mean you failed.

Yes I will be in college for five years. Yes the average is four years. Am I worried? No. Why? Because I truly have a chance to learn from different experiences and other people.

7. If it was easy, everyone would do it.

Fun fact 68% of American's do not have a bachelor's degree. Remember that when college gets to be too much, beat the odds and defy the statistic.

8. Be brave

As said before, college is scary, sometimes even terrifying. But it's okay because we got this! We are surrounded by people who want us to succeed and be the best that we can be. Take a leap of faith and step out of your comfort zone, you will be thankful you did.

9. Sometimes the smallest step in the right direction ends up being the biggest step of your life. Tip toe if you must, but take the step.

As I graduated high school back in 2015, I realized I was not ready to leave my last 18 years behind and start the next chapter of my life. So, I took classes locally and closed the best chapter of my life thus far. I tiptoed from high school, to a community college to eventually living hours away, at a college where I knew nobody.

10. The temptation to quit will be greatest just before you are about to succeed.

College is stressful. You are constantly overloaded with work that seems foreign. Sometimes you wonder if it's even from your class. But just as you are about to give up, everything turns around and you soar.

11. And so the adventure begins

Your college years, are the last years of your life where you are in complete control of what happens. Explore something that you never thought you'd have the opportunity to experience, try something you thought you'd never like.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
