For many college students, Thanksgiving break is the first time we get to go back home after a long three months at school. Going home means free food, getting to see friends and family, and sleeping in your own bed. However, going home for Thanksgiving also means being bombarded with ten million questions by our family members.

Family members, we love you, but please, please try to keep the questions to a minimum. After all, we're on vacation, and the last thing we want to talk about is school and grades. So please, I'm begging you, to not ask any of these questions on Turkey Day:

1. Do you finally have a boyfriend/girlfriend at school??

I'm sorry, but when did whether or not I'm in a relationship start to determine whether or not I'm having a good college experience?? The answer is never.

2. WHY don't you have said boyfriend/girlfriend?

BECAUSE, okay?! If the right person came along, then sure. But for right now, I am quite happy as is, so please don't question it.

3. What's you major?

Honestly, if I have to answer this question one more time, I think my brain may explode. I KNOW I have told you the answer before, so either you forgot or are just trying to make small talk.

4. How are your classes going this semester?

Well, the honest answer is that classes are driving me insane and I have approximately 209332394 papers and tests per week with finals coming up. But the answer you're probably looking for is that everything's going great and I'm learning a lot. So I'll just tell you the latter to avoid more conversation.

5. "You look great!"

This may not be a question, but it's really not something I want to hear. You probably think you're being nice, but I know you're secretly judging me for gaining weight. College is stressful, okay!?!

6. What do you want to do after college?

I don't even know what I'm doing with myself next Tuesday, let alone for the rest of my life! Please just let me eat my mashed potatoes in peace.

7. How's your GPA looking this semester?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA *slowly starts to cry*

8. What do you and your friends do for fun?

Well, in all honestly, my Saturday nights either look like this:

Really?... REALLY!? I'm pretty sure you know what my answer is gonna be.

10. What are your plans for the summer? Do you have a job or internship lined up yet?

Nope. But what I do have planned is a vacation far far away from all of these questions!

11. Are you ready for your final exams when you go back?

To be honest, I hadn't really thought about them until now. But thank you SO MUCH for reminding me!
