1: Facebook
The biggest social media platform and largest network of all time, if you aren't sharing on Facebook, you are missing out on an enormous opportunity. The demographic is rather universal, and you're bound to find an audience.
2: Twitter
Twitter is the second default on The Odyssey. Character limits are a bit of a pain, but it shouldn't stop you from sharing there. Twitter users tend to be younger, namely teens and adults in their 20s and 30s. Millennials writing for millennials.
3: Tumblr
Tumblr is largely treated as a joke on the internet. As a content creator, however, it's an excellent place to share your work. Tumblr's demographic tends to be teens and young adults who value non-conformism and self-expression. Tumblr has a tendency to be an echo box. If something circulates, it circulates very well. Should your goal be to make a little noise with your articles, it's imperative that you share on Tumblr.
4: Pinterest
Pinterest specialises primarily in pictures, but you can pin your articles as well. Pinterest skews primarily towards women, typically in their 20s.
5: Google+
Yes, post to Google+. It seems like a dead social network, but it still has a decent presence. Google+ tends to skew towards men in their 20s.
6: LinkedIn
If you're looking to show your writing skills in a more professional setting, LinkedIn is the place to post. LinkedIn users tend to be well educated, with degrees from good schools, with good jobs, and/or higher up on the social ladder. Posting and doing well on LinkedIn can help you get noticed not just as a great writer. It could potentially land you a job.
7: YouTube
If you're making a video, YouTube is the best platform to use. Catering to all demographics, it's the place to post any video related content. Or, if you're willing, you can make a slideshow of images. As long as you keep music and/or commentary playing over, it will reach many people.
8: Instagram
Instagram is huge among Millennials and the iGen. The best thing to do is post a powerful quote from your article as an image, and use the link to the article as the caption. You should gain a decent amount of traffic.
9: Reddit
Reddit is like a bigger Tumblr, but with a more diverse demographic. Reddit has a convenient feature called "subreddit", which allows you to target a specific community. If you need an easier time finding your target audience, Reddit is the way to go.
10: StumbleUpon
Feeling lucky? Add your articles here. People will find awesome content totally by chance, and if they like it, it will spread like wildfire. Just don't submit too often, or the platform will think you're a bot. You can submit more than one if you do a little clicking around.
11: LINE
LINE's users tend to skew towards a younger, more Asian demographic, so it's best to study Asiacentric trends. Most LINE users are based in Japan, LINE even has an English Learning platform. If you're confident in your own English and have a decent knowledge of the Japanese language and culture, LINE is a must.
It is recommended to use all of these platforms if possible. You are sure to grow quickly if you do so.
