We all have alter egos that we don't always get to embrace in day-to-day life. Some of these alter egos are strictly from our imaginations. We would never even dare to show these alters to the real world around us. So, how do we find time to fulfill these alter egos? We escape. How we choose to escape is really up to us. For me, I escape through a good book or Netflix. Most people today have Netflix on every device that they own. Netflix seems to be our guilty pleasure of choice where we can vicariously live through the stories within.

So, grab those sweatpants, your fuzzy blanket, your pint of ice cream, the nearest electronic device, and get ready to unleash all your alter egos.

1. "Gossip Girl" - Elite Rich Kid

Don't lie; you know you wanted to be the elite popular rich kid from the Upper Eastside of NYC. Call on your personal driver, grab your heels and ties, and get ready to head to the fanciest parties in Manhattan. Not only is this fulfilling your "Elite Rich Kid" side, you get all the intense mysteries that you could ask for. The biggest mystery of all is the anonymous blogger, “Gossip Girl”, who seems to be watching your every move. Fellas, don’t let the title fool you, this show is just as addicting for you all as well. What guy wouldn’t want to be a mischievous Chuck Bass or a dashing Nate Archibald? At the end of this series, your jaw will drop to the ground.

2. "Once Upon A Time" - Fairytale with a Twist

Ever since you've grown up, you have heard the stories of Snow White and Prince Charming, Beauty and the Beast, Pinocchio, and the list goes on and on. You're wholesome fairytale turns into a dark twist when all of your favorite characters end up in one town, Storybrooke. With "Once Upon A Time," you travel back and forth between all the different realms witnessing the chaos that has ensued because of the Evil Queen. 3. "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" - Quirky Side with a Sprinkle of Naive

We all have our naive moments, just admit it; however, in the "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt," you have the excuse of being locked in a bunker for 15 years. All you want is your "world to be your noodles and butter". So, with this show, it can be. Enjoy being able to live in an NYC apartment with your hilariously outgoing, gay roommate, experience new loves for the very first time, and learn how to live life just being you. Come along on the journey to literally break away from your past and start fresh in a whole new world. "Hashbrown, no filter."

4. "Orange Is the New Black" - Inner Rebel

Be prepared to be locked up and consumed in the antics of this show. Through all of the many rebellious stories, you feel like you are one of the ladies, waiting in line to be served by Red's "family" and getting your hair done by Sophia. Nobody wants to go to prison, and that's the best part of this show; you are able to become a criminal and experience the world on the other side of the bars. Just watch out for Crazy Eyes, she gets easily attached.

5. "Reign" - Royalty Throwback

Ruling a country may not be everyone's dream but when you spend your time in the world of the show Reign, you soon change your mind. All your fantasies soon become reality. As you walk through the gates and roam through the royal halls, hearing the latest gossip on the prestigious Lords of the realm, you find yourself bowing down to take the crown. Not only does this show take you through time, it takes you through love triangles, intense romances, folklore, and much more. Are you ready to be a part of this royal world?

6. "Criminal Minds" - Super Sleuth

Who doesn't love a good mystery to solve on their own? Especially when it comes to catching the bad guys. Criminal Minds is more and more adrenaline filled with every episode. You are able to put yourself in the minds of the criminals and sometimes you can even catch them before the Behavioral Unit does. If you are up for a challenge, start these 11 addicting seasons.

7. "Grey's Anatomy" - Medical Genius/Intern of Love

Grey's Anatomy. . . where do I even start? When I pour myself into the work of Seattle Grace Hospital, I believe that I am on top of the medical world, and I could perform any surgery. Not only does this show let you fulfill your dreams of being a medical master, it takes you through all the crazy relationships, hookups, and dramatic fits. "Grey's Anatomy," I will always pick you, choose you, and love you.

8. "The Vampire Diaries" - Immortal Lover

Love triangles, daylight rings, and blood; what better place to escape? There are many different versions of vampires but this version takes the blood bag. Bottom line is, who hasn't wanted to be an immortal? Most of us can relate to Elena Gilbert's human side and that want that she has to stay with the love of her life. Become bewitched by the intensity of the show. Sorry to break it to you though, you'll never amount to one of The Originals.

9. "The Hart of Dixie" - City Meets Southern

We've all had to adjust to a new environment. This show brings back the emotions in trying to fit in with the others. Once you get involved, you learn the ways of being a Southern Bell, or for the fellas, a hard working Southern gentleman (unless you are Wade Kinsella). Enjoy the quirky, cheesiness of this show.

10. "How To Get Away with Murder" - Twisted Lawyer

Our lawyer side comes out. Whether we want to help the good guy or the bad guy, we have to help ourselves. There is another side to being a part of the law; a more corrupted side. This show puts you in the position of keeping secrets, distancing yourself from others, and getting away with... binging on your favorite TV show.

11. "Pretty Little Liars" - Deadly Liar

Lying isn't always extreme but in this show, the lies snowball into chaos. Pretty Little Liars is a crazy roller-coaster. Each episode holds a new twist that will mess with your mind. Not only are you able to live a life of lies through these characters, you go through a great deal of mysteries trying to find a vicious tormentor who refuses to leave you alone. You better lock this show in your pocket. -A

With all the greatness of escaping into our alter egos, there is still a reality. I love binging on my favorite TV shows as much as the next person; however, don't forget that there is a whole world around us that we need to embrace and discover.
