11 Most Anticipated Media Releases Of 2016

Every year brings a new flood of media releases, and we're extra excited for what 2016 has to offer. With plenty of movie sequels and TV and album releases, there will always be something new to watch and listen to over and over. Here's a short list of some of the most anticipated releases of 2016:

1. Independence Day: Resurgence

Two decades later, a sequel to the infamous Independence Day will finally be released. On June 24th, hit up the movies to experience another Science fiction thriller starring Jeff Goldblum, Liam Hemsworth, and Bill Pullman that follows the attack of aliens on Earth and the attempts of men and women to protect the planet.

2. Star Trek Beyond

Only a month after, the next Star Trek film will be released. We can't wait for Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto to fight off another alien threat while stranded on another planet.

3. The 15th and Final Season of American Idol

Whether you're excited to watch it or you're excited for it to be over, everyone should be excited for the final season of American Idol. After 14 seasons, the iconic show is coming to an end, and 2016 will see the last of it.

4. Fuller House

You've all heard of this one by now, but that doesn't tame the excitement. The show that filled most of our childhoods will be back on Netflix, following the story of DJ Tanner with her own children and the support of her family to raise her kids. Sound familiar? We can't wait.

5. Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

We're all curious to see how Ben Affleck will fare as Batman. He's probably feeling the pressure as he has to live up to Christian Bale's past performances, but nontheless, we're excited to see Ben and Henry Cavill battle it out on the big screen. Who's favorite superhero will come out on top? Find out on March 25th!

6. Captain America: Civil War

Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. on one screen again? Yes please. Yet again, we get to watch two of our favorite superheroes battle it out, but what will this mean for the Avengers? Watch on May 6th to see the story play out.

7. Drake's 'Views From the 6'

Although there was a hopeful release date in 2015, now there's speculation he'll hold out until January 6th. Whenever it is, the album's release will be huge and we're all still hoping it will be downloaded for free on our phones just like U2's was. Please, Apple?

8.Finding Dory

Probably the longest awaited sequel of all, Finding Dory will follow our favorite forgetful fish as she attempts to reunite with her mom and dad. Hopefully we'll get a lot more motivating sayings and handshakes out of this one.

9. Frank Ocean's album

Frank Ocean has practically disappeared from the music scene over the past few years, and we're desperate for him to come back. There's speculation his album will actually be released in 2016, but after the previous delays, who knows when we'll finally get to here it. Help us out, Frank.

10. Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders

As if there weren't already enough Criminal Minds episodes to keep us entertained, a spin off of the beloved series is being created. This new series will follow crime cases of American citizens on international soil. And with Gary Sinise back on screen, maybe this series in addition to Criminal Minds will finally satisfy our need for crime shows- or at least increase our anxiety when we experience familiar scenes from the shows.

12. New albums from Kanye West, Katy Perry, Nick Jonas, Lorde, Rihanna, Britney Spears

Even though plenty of them were supposed to be released in 2015 have since been long waited on, the release of albums from these stars will for sure fill radio stations with new songs to overplay. How exciting.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
