Looking to have some fun in Montana this summer? There are plenty of options. This list highlights just a few of the options that are available for your leisure time in the Big Sky State. So, now there is no excuse for you to say that there is nothing to do. Kick on your cowboy boots, pack your bathing suit, or start the car. There is something for everyone to enjoy!

1. Visit the National Parks!

Both Glacier and Yellowstone are great ways to spend the weekend. Within the parks there are plenty of options of ways to spend time in the great outdoors. Be sure to use your head, though. Don't be another story of a tourist at Yellowstone.

2. See the Little Bighorn Battlefield.

This national monument holds a big chunk of U.S. history within it. Visit, reflect, and learn about Custer's Last Stand.

3. Dinosaurs are cool.

Visit the museum in Glendive to learn a little bit more about these beasts.

4. Experience Labor Day weekend in Dillon!

It is Montana's biggest weekend! Watch the rodeo, go to the concert, and enjoy the experience.This year Montgomery Gentry and Old Dominion are playing! Visit the Metlan Bar afterward if you are feeling adventurous.

5. Have a laugh in Virginia City.

The Brewery Follies is a cabaret show that is sure to give you a few chuckles. Who doesn't love a good laugh?

6. Float a river.

There are plenty of rivers to choose from in Montana to day or overnight float. Choose a river, pick your float, and pack your fishing rod.

7. Hike to Crow Creek Falls.

Outside of Radersburg there is the perfect hike waiting for you.

8. Go to Missoula.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine.
