There's nothing more gorgeous than an Oxford autumn, and, lucky for us, it's finally that time of year. Despite the warmer weather we've had lately, it's hard not to get in the fall mood the second it becomes October 1st. There are so many things to do before Halloween and so little time to do any of them.
1. Indulge in your favorite fall drinks from Starbucks.
Whether it's a pumpkin spice latte or your usual order, nothing screams fall quite like an Instagramed photo of your Starbucks drink with fallen leaves in the background.
2. Plan a Halloween party with your squad.
Halloween is such an underappreciated holiday by adults, but it's such a fun time of year! Plus, who doesn't love an excuse to hang out with their best friends?
3. Make a lit new playlist to walk to class to.
While the brisk October air makes the long walk to class even less fun, a new playlist can definitely improve anyone's mood.
4. Halloween Haunt at Kings Island.
Until October 28th, Halloween Haunt takes over Kings Island on Fridays and Saturdays. From mazes to monsters roaming the park, there's plenty to be frightened by.
5. Go stargazing in the Formal Gardens.
Fall is such a beautiful time of year, and though chilly, it's a great time to go stargazing. The Formal Gardens are just far enough away from the main part of campus to be a fantastic place to see the sky.
6. Catch a horror film marathon.
Wilks Theater is hosting one on October 27th from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m., but you can also check out the drive-in or host one of your own.
7. Visit Butterfield Farms.
Who doesn't love hayrides and corn mazes? Is it really a Midwestern fall if you don't go to one?
8. Attend a sporting event or two.
With all the athletic events going on, make sure to show Love and Honor by supporting our Redhawks. Football season is in full swing, and ice hockey is starting up as well!
9. Trevor Noah, Live!
Family weekend is October 6th-8th, and there will be plenty to do and see. Comedian Trevor Noah will be here on October 7th at 8 p.m. so make sure to get your tickets while you still can.
10. Dog Day at Midterms.
I think we can all agree that midterm season is not the highlight of the semester, but at least there are cute dogs for us to go see! On October 4th, you can go see some from 1-4 p.m. in Shriver Dolibois A/B.
We all need a study break every once in awhile, so it's best to make time to enjoy the October fun while it's here!
