We've all been there — when we are sad or frustrated, most turn to music to find some sort of solace. This is my personal playlist of some anthem song lyrics.

1. I'll stay awake//Cause the dark's not taking prisoners tonight - 'Ode to Sleep' by Twenty One Pilots

Off of Twenty One Pilots' sophomore album, "Vessel." "Ode to Sleep" is a song that proves one can take back their mind and inspires one not to succumb to the dark thoughts.

2. I'm taking back the crown// I'm all dressed up and naked// I see what's mine and take it - 'Emperor's New Clothes' by Panic! at the Disco

This song is off of Panic! at the Disco's newest album, "Death of A Bachelor." "Emperor's New Clothes" is kind of a "rebirth" song in a way. Singer Brendon Urie described this song as a testament to self knowledge that he couldn't reach perfection, and it's OK because "I can show you everything I got."

3. Hey young blood, doesn't it feel like our time is running out?// I'm gonna change you like a remix// Then I'll raise you like a phoenix - 'The Phoenix' by Fall Out Boy

Off the post-hiatus Fall Out Boy album "Save Rock And Roll," "The Phoenix" is another rebirth song. The imagery of the phoenix is almost a universal symbol for resilience and not being kept down. This song is meant to showcase that symbol, and is all in all a really great motivational song

4. Maybe it's not my weekend// but it's gonna be my year - 'Weightless' by All Time Low

Weightless is from All Time Low's third album, "Nothing Personal." "Weightless" is a song about giving up and not caring about the minor setbacks, because life is more than that.

5. Do or die, you'll never make me//Because the world will never take my heart//Go and try, you'll never break me - 'Welcome to the Black Parade' by My Chemical Romance

This song is off of the album with the same name that is about never having your spirit broken.

6. Speak to me// When all you gotta keep is strong move along move along like I know you do - 'Move Along' by the All American Rejects

"Move Along" is from the album with the same title. The repetition in this song is about having the strength to go on.

7. We won't turn around, we will not slow down//Follow the light through the dreams and disasters - 'Dreams and Disasters' by Owl City

Off the album, "The Midsummer Station," this synth pop song is an instant pick-me-up by owl city

8. Get up 'cause the world has left you lying on the ground.//You're my pride and joy, you're my pride and joy.//Get up Johnny boy because we all need you now - 'Johnny Boy' by Twenty One Pilots

From their self-titled, lesser-known album, "Johnny Boy" is an affirming song that tells us to keep trying.

9. I'll carry you home.//No, you're not alone.//Keep marching on - 'Battle Scars' by Paradise Fears

This song is off of Paradise Fears' album with the same name. About Continuing to fight even though it takes awhile for wounds to heal.

10. Let them know with all you've got// That you are not your skin- 'Skin' by Sixx: AM

Off their album, "This is Gonna Hurt," Sixx: AM wrote this song to show that beauty isn't skin deep — its so much more so continue to live.

11. Keep living loud and proud// They never can hold you down - 'Beaten in Lips' by Beartooth

"Beaten in Lips" is off of Beartooth's latest album titled "Disgusting." It is an angsty anthem to keep living despite adversity.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
