Ron Swanson is no ordinary man. There are life lessons for everyone from Ron's life on "Parks and Recreation." After I have been watching all seasons of "Parks and Rec" on Netflix, I have realized some life gems that Ron has helped me realize.
1. Ron is an expert at avoiding people and avoiding work.
With his side kick secretary, April Ludgate, successfully curving all people trying to reach Ron. He is a true inspiration in to how to avoid the people that you do not wish to speak to.
2. Ron teaches us to stay true to ourselves, and lets us know that it is OK to be an introvert and keep to yourself.
Ron takes great pride in keeping to himself and avoiding meaningless conversations and relationships with people at all costs.
3. Ron shows us that it is most efficient to let others know exactly what you want in life.
There is no confusion with Ron. He is upfront and precise on what he wants and he makes sure you do not misunderstand him.
4. Ron demonstrates everything that we are thinking, like salads are for rabbits, for example.
Salads are the food that our food is suppose to eat. Is it even a meal if there is no meat involved?
5. Ron establishes something that most of us already know: Bacon is life.
There are few things better than bacon. The only things that can even come close in comparison is puppies, the movie "Space Jam" and velvet sweat suits.
6. Eating an ice cream cone in public used to be a thing that men would need to avoid because no one on the planet, except maybe Liam Neeson, can look tough eating an ice cream cone.
Ron shows us it is OK to let your guard down at times.
7. Ron teaches us that no matter what is going on in our life, whether it is a failed test, being red-flagged by the government, or finding out your favorite character in your most recent Netflix addiction died, breakfast can cure anything.
The most important part of any breakfast, however, is always the bacon, but you already knew that.
8. One of the more valuable lessons that can be learned from Ron is that a tough outer shell is extremely important.
If no one knows what you love then they cannot take it away.
9. Although he has an extremely tough outer shell and rarely lets his guard down for moments of sensitivity...
He continues to show us that not even a tough guy like Ron Swanson, the man who fears nothing, can resist the love of a puppy.
10. Ron teaches that regrets are for the birds. Regretting is looking back into the past and wishing for something that is impossible.
You cannot take back time, so regrets are meaningless and should be forgotten.
11. The most important life lesson Ron has taught us, which can be applied to every aspect of life, is that you should never give something only half of your attention.
Every moment and every single thing that you do deserves your full attention and 100 percent of your efforts. In the end, if you put 100 percent into what you do, you will be successful.
