The Golden Globes were this past Sunday, marking the start of the so-called "awards season." I like to think that the Golden Globes is an award ceremony where the stars just have fun and drink...I mean really, is that
that far from the truth? The results are usually funny, especially with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler hosting the last couple of years. Ricky Gervais returned to host for the fourth time this year. So of course there were many memorable moments that made me awestruck, laugh, and really think about how even if these people are actors, they are still beautifully human.

1. Eva Longoria and America Ferrera.

These two had the entire room laughing, despite the fact that the topic they brought up was actually serious. When the Golden Globes original announced earlier this year that Gina Rodriguez had received a nomination, they accidentally showed America Ferrera.

2. Several show-stopping gowns and tuxes.

Multiple people were wearing amazing outfits, and made me very jealous. The Smith family looked stunning. Gina Rodriguez looked amazing as always. Ross Mathews looked adorable in his tux. However, the best outfits of the night I believe go to Laverne Cox and Viola Davis. Laverne wore a
white dress, simple with a train, but it fit her perfectly. Viola's was the opposite, but gorgeous with the dark blue and sparkles.

3. Ricky doesn't play well with others.

Ricky isn't one of the nicest of people, and he often says this about himself. Right off the bat he insulted everyone in the room including himself. But, he was hilarious and honest. His Ben Affleck comment involving Matt Damon, had even Matt Damon laughing, though it was awkward.

4. Denzel was awarded the Cecil B. Demille.

Tom Hanks presenting Denzel Washington the Cecil B. Demille award seemed perfect on paper,
and it was. Denzel was holding back tears as Tom spoke about him. After the montages of all the movies he has done, he brought up his family (minus one son, who was working on his AFI thesis) and thanked everyone. Plus, he and his wife were so adorable.

5. Sylvester Stallone took home the gold.

Sylvester Stallone finally won a Golden Globe. I checked to his IMDB page, and was shocked to see he hadn’t won one before this award ceremony.

6. Alejandro G. Iñárritu won Best Director.

Director Alejandro Iñárritu said probably the most underrated joke of the night. Morgan Freeman presented him with best director award, he said he saw God.

7. Did Leo win?

Yes , yes he did. Hopefully, he will finally win a Oscar.

8. Jonah Hill had a bear of a time.

Jonah Hill in a bear costume, and it was funny. That's all I’m going to say about that.

9. The poor censor button.

The person who I felt was working the most of the crew that night during the award show, besides the nice gentlemen helping the ladies up the steps, was whoever was working the censor button.

10. Taraji P. Henson won for Best Actress in a TV
Drama.

As she walked up to the stage, she handed cookies to everyone, including Leo. It was fun to watch because she was happy winning.

11. Time flew by.

What happened with the time? It suddenly was nearly 10 after 11 when the show was finally done, and Ricky Gervais quickly said he was sorry as the credits rolled and ended the show. The show seemed to have gone faster than in years previous.

All in all, the Golden Globes was fun to watch, and people involved seemed to be having fun as well.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
