1. Moomers Ice Cream - Traverse City

According to a USA Today poll, Moomers Homemade Ice Cream in Traverse City has been named the best ice cream in the U.S. They make over 160 different flavors, but 20 are available daily. They were also featured as one of the top ice cream parlors on Good Morning America in 2008.

2. Tomatoes Apizza - Farmington Hills

Food Network Magazine named the pizza restaurant, Tomatoes Apizza, with two locations in Farmington Hills, the best in Michigan.

3. Sweetwater's Donut Mill - Kalamazoo

The Huffington Post recognized Sweetwater's Donut Mill as the best place to get donuts in the mitten state. They have a variety of flavors from Chocolate Lover's to Snickers and Caramel Apple.

4. Black Owl - Kalamazoo

What goes better with donuts than coffee? Black Owl, also in Kalamazoo, was named the best coffee shop in Michigan by MLive in 2015. They also have a breakfast menu, teas and vegan hot chocolate.

5. The Root Restaurant and Bar - White Lake

The Detroit Free Press named them Restaurant of the Year in 2012 and Detroit Eater recently named The Root Restaurant and Bar as the hottest brunch spot in Michigan. The restaurant's menu includes crème fraiche pancakes, pastries and quiche. They also serve lunch and dinner.

6. Craft Work - Detroit

Craft Work, a New American cuisine restaurant, was named the hottest restaurant in Detroit for June 2016. They serve dinner and brunch.

7. The Fountain Detroit - Detroit

Located in Campus Martius, The Fountain Detroit is Detroit's first shipping container restaurant. It is situated on top of sand. Seating includes picnic tables, lounges and high tops with beach umbrellas.

8. Nice Modern Creamery - Madison Heights

Inside of a Biggby Coffee in Madison Heights, Nice Modern Creamery makes their ice cream right in front of their customers using liquid nitrogen. They even given the option to add syringes full of Nutella or jelly to your ice cream.

9. Rochester Brunch House - Rochester

The Rochester Brunch House's menu boasts 83 items that are 10 dollars and under. They have savory items like sandwiches, burgers and omelets, but many customers come for their sweet items like the Cinnamon Roll Pancakes, Red Velvet Pancakes and Fruit Mascarpone Stuffed French Toast.

10. El Asador - Detroit

Only in Your State named El Asador as the top place to get Mexican food in Michigan. Their menu includes fajitas, mahi mahi tacos and quesadillas.

11. Vinsetta Garage - Berkley

Vinsetta Garage was featured on United States of Bacon, Best Bars in America and Bite This with Nadia G. Their Macon Bacon burger made it on United States of Bacon for the four types of bacon that it includes.
