Everyone underestimates the challenge of a retail job until they work it. Don't get me wrong, I really do enjoy my job. Admittedly at times, though, it can be a challenge. There are definitely times I wish I could lock myself in a fitting room and hide. Every time you work you have to be ready to deal with the public. Customers can either make or break, your entire day. These are the 11 types of people you'll deal with if you work retail.
1. The customer who ignores you or gives you a dirty look when you ask them a question.
2. The customer who is super chatty, when you're super busy.
3. The customer who wants to speak to your manager after you tell them no for something.
4. The customer who messes up the display you just finished working on.
I told you I could help you find your size, but thanks for ignoring me and for my new mess to clean up.
5. The customer who says they're never coming back again because of "bad service". ![]()

7. The customer who doesn't understand that the store is closed.
You asked me if the store had closed, I told you yes and yet 20 minutes later you're still here.

Actually, the store doesn't double as a jungle gym so if you could control your kids, that would be great.
9. The customer who cleans up after themselves and offers to put their stuff away.

Although it's difficult at times, it's not always horrible. Customers can get on your nerves and be extremely rude but they can also be super sweet and make everything worth it.
