11 Blogs Every Girl Should Read

If you're looking to stay updated on the best food, travel, fashion, or lifestyle blogs, these 11 examples all have something different to offer:

Food Inspiration

"What Should I Eat For Breakfast Today?"

This is an amazing food blog that I discovered a couple of years ago. It focuses on breakfast, and the recipes are organized in categories such as “Light, Heavy, Savory, Fruity, Weekend Breakfasts.” The blogger, Marta Greber, does an amazing job with the photography, and her relaxed style of writing makes it an enjoyable read. Marta also includes guides to eating your way through cities all across the globe. The pictures of each cafe, coffee shop, and restaurant are her own, and they're fun to browse through.

"Sprouted Kitchen"

Sprouted Kitchen is a collection of recipes made from all whole grains, healthy fats, and natural sugar alternatives. They post recipes based on what’s in season and don't over-complicate the foods. The blog is a simple layout and is organized beautifully into different seasonal categories, food types, and meals. The photography is beautiful and will have your mouth watering at first glance.

"101 Cookbooks"

101 Cookbooks was created by San Francisco-based photographer and cookbook author, Heidi Swanson. She writes about recipes that enter her life through travel and everyday interests. She focuses on natural whole foods and ingredients. The blog is huge and includes recipes organized by ingredients and season. She also suggests her favorite cookbooks and includes information about natural cooking, like her favorite fats & oils, sweeteners, and whole grains.

Travel Inspiration

"Time Out"

Time Out is an amazing source to help you get the lay of the land in a new city, or find things to do in your own. It offers guides to practically every major city around the world, with guides on what’s happening daily, weekly, and monthly. There are also neighborhood guides to the best restaurants, coolest bars, museums, nightlife, and shops, giving you full access to the best places to go in whatever corner of whatever city you find yourself in.

"Adventure Journal"

Adventure Journal is an online magazine that is devoted to outdoor adventure in all forms. It's a really fun blog to read because they have an intriguing perspective on travel. Categories include "Weekend Cabins," sharing many fun and offbeat places to spend the weekend, as well as "Historical Badass," where they basically write about bad-ass travelers and backpackers.

"Map Urbane"

Map Urbane was created in 2013 by an urban planner, a food critic, and a real estate broker. Rather than showing you a typical map of a city, it describes neighborhoods and areas based on how the locals and visitors actually identify them. It's a small blog, including just the city maps, but is fun to get a feel for stereotypes and reputations of different places.

"Nowhere Mag"

Nowhere Mag is, in my opinion, one of the coolest travel writing platforms I've come across. They concentrate on stories about places that you more than likely have never even heard of. Nowhere's writers explore locations that aren't teeming with tourists, with the goal of sharing a real glimpse into life in the foreign and undistinguished places of the world.

Fashion Inspiration

"Who What Wear"

Who What Wear is the online blog of Clique Media Group. They write about all things trendy, stylish, and celebrity related. It's a good blog to follow on Facebook, because they're always posting new articles, tips, and trends that make it easy to stay in the know. They also post lots of street style, outfit ideas, and cheap pieces that make it simple to keep your style up to date.

"The Frugality"

The Frugality was created by freelance fashion stylist and blogger, Alexandra Stedman. She displays her own sense of style through her posts, sharing many extremely affordable items and ideas. Alexandra also has a beautiful Instagram account, and always shares the store and cost of the clothes she features.

Lifestyle Inspiration

"The Londoner"

The Londoner is a lifestyle blog created by Rosie, who originally created it to keep in touch with friends and family after moving to London. Now she writes about travel, style, life and the city of London. Rosie’s friendly and warm personality comes off through her writing, and her posts are full of colorful beautiful pictures. It’s a blog that will keep you reading and gets you motivated to fine tune all areas of your own lifestyle.

"Apartment 34"

Apartment 34 is another beautiful blog that I found a couple of years ago. It includes ideas in decor, fashion, food, and travel. Erin Hiemstra, the founder, does an amazing job with the content and organization of the blog. It’s a great hub for everything ‘beautiful’ and will keep you coming back for more.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
