In 2016, being able to skillfully apply a full face of makeup is an art that every woman seems to have mastered. Everyone is contoured, highlighted, and winged to perfection, and then.... there's you. You long to master all of the skills the beauty gurus have, but unfortunately you can't even apply an even coat of lipstick. Between Beauty Blenders, Morphe palettes, and Kylie Lipkits it can all be a little overwhelming sometimes, but don't worry, you aren't alone in the fight. Here are 11 things everyone who is bad at makeup understands.

1. You spend hours watching Youtube tutorials without actually learning anything.

Wow, it's nice that other people are so talented. Too bad you can never do any of this.

2. Spending 30 minutes in Ulta or Sephora is like being immersed in foreign culture.

It's loud, it's bright, it's crowded, and you have no clue what anything is or why it costs so much.

3. Whenever you try to practice something you learned on the internet it always goes horribly wrong.

Yeah... you should probably just stick to the basics.

4. You want to buy all of the popular and expensive products even though you have no idea how to use them.

Maybe if you buy seven Kylie Lipkits you'll miraculously wake up one day and know how to use them.

5. Contouring is a mystical art that you feel like you will never understand.

So they do that... and then... and it makes them look like.... that?

6. You probably only own one tiny eyeshadow palette, and you have no idea what to do with any of it.

Let's stick to this nice nude color.... and maybe a little of that other sparkly nude color to spice things up.

7. Watching your friends do their makeup is absolutely mesmerizing.

They're so talented, and you're so proud.

8. You text your makeup guru friend for tips at least four times a week.

You just don't wanna be ugly anymore, man.

9. You always feel like the ugly friend.

There's everyone else with their winged liner and perfectly highlighted cheekbones... then there's you.

10. When people start talking makeup you just smile and nod like you know what's going on.

Yes, I also believe that the Anastasia Beverly Hills eyebrow gel is superior to that... other kind.

11. Your number one fear is liquid eyeliner.

Let's maybe leave the wings for the professionals.

In a world where anyone and everyone can be a beauty guru, it's hard to feel like you're doing the whole female thing right when you can't even contour your nose properly. Luckily, Youtube, your talented friends, and the nice ladies at Sephora are here to help. You may not catch on quickly, but you'll get it eventually. Now go out there and learn how to wing that liner you future beauty vlogger. The rest of womankind has faith in you.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
