Having an older sibling can be stressful from time to time, but it definitely has its advantages. Growing up with a sister that was about two years older than me was never easy. We always clashed heads and it sometimes got to the point where our fighting got so bad, that our parents couldn't even bring us out at the same time. But as we got older, the fighting seemed to stop, and it made me realize that have an older sibling, really isn't that bad at all.

1. Someone to tell you when you're being a loser.

Throughout the early stages of high school my sister had already knew what was deemed "socially acceptable" and what wasn't. Having her tell me what was and wasn't okay to wear was a big help.

2. Having access to a free ride.

Having an older sibling who has a car can definitely be a life saver. Always having a ride to and from school, a ride to my friends house and a ride home from a party late at night was always much appreciated.

3. Someone to loosen up your parents.

Parents tend to go harder on the older sibling because they are essentially the first one's to do everything. After an older sibling has experienced something, the parents tend to lighten their grip and give their second child some more breathing room.

4. Having someone to always grab you a drink.

Let's face it, we don't always do what were suppose to do and having someone within reach who is of age, is pretty awesome.

5. They always know where the parties are.

As a sophomore in college, I have the luxury of my older sibling going to a college about 15 minutes from me. Whenever the parties by me are dead, there's always somewhere else to go.

6. You can always rely on them for help with school work.

With an older sibling, they have more experience and have a better understanding of what's to come, especially with school work. Whenever you have a question or need help, just shoot them a text.

7. They'll always be there to get you out of trouble.

Parents can be tough on you sometimes and it's always helpful having someone backing you up. If you're there for them, they'll be there for you.

8. Someone to always give you life advice.

Older siblings have been through more and have a better understanding of the real world. Things can get stressful, especially in college and having someone to talk to who has already been through it can be extremely helpful.

9. Someone who knows you more than you know yourself.

It may be strange, but your older sibling knows you more than you think. Whenever you feel peer pressured or uncertain, your older sibling will be right by your side.

10. You'll always have a friend.

Not only do you have an older sibling, but you'll always have someone who's more than that, someone who will be by your side, no matter what.

11. Someone to tell you that it'll always get better.

Going through something is never easy and doing it alone can be even tougher. Having the arm of an older sibling around your shoulder, somehow, always lessens the pain.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
