Pasta, duct tape, hand me down's and living by the words "If it's not broke don't fix it!"......Simplistic is one way to put it.
1. You blow in things/hit them to get them to work again.
Trust me, it's not broken you just have to blow in it a little. Try holding it on this angle and hitting it, that usually works!
2. Duct tape is your family's best friend.
There is nothing that a little duct tape can't fix. And if you're really experienced, you know all the right ways to make it so the duct tape barely shows.
3. You live for knock-off brands.
Knock-off Uggs, knock off makeup, and your cabinets are filled with store-brand products.
4. You're a firm believer of collecting change.
Watching other people throw their change as if it's nothing physically pains you. You probably hold all your change in an empty food/drink container of some sort and when the end of the year rolls around to turn it all in, your family all takes their guess of how much money they think the change will amount to.
5. Most of your things are used, never new.
A new car? You've never known such a thing. The majority of the things you own are refurbished- car, furniture, clothes..whether they're your siblings, cousins, or from a thrift shop your family knows that hand me down's are the way to go. The poor youngest in the family has hardly gotten to experience what having clothes of their own is even like.
6. The Famous Bill Sigh
You know when bills are being paid when you hear the famous "bill sigh" It's different from any other sigh; it's long, it usually is accompanied with a head shake or hand to the forehead, and you can actually hear it being pulled from the bottom of the stomach
7. You actually use coupons.
Those coupons that come with your receipt? Yeah, you actually are interested in those. Store circulars with all the weekly savings are a blessing and you always get excited to tell your family how much you saved after shopping
8. You always attempt to fix the furniture before replacing it.
Replacing things, in general, occurs rarely in your household but it's especially rare to replace furniture. "Just stuff it back in," is probably a daily saying of yours.
9. Your dinnerware doesn't match.
You have different sets of plates, bowls, cups, and silverware but no one questions it.
10. You've learned some creative ways to serve pasta.
Who knew that you could serve pasta so many ways! Thank god for the different shapes to make your family into thinking they're eating something different!
